TOURISM IN MALAYSIA
Tourism refers to an industry that provide for tourists holiday
plan in terms of food,
lodging, transport sightseeing, and interesting place. In
Malaysia, tourism industry
become as one of the biggest contributor to the nations economy.
Malaysia protect this
industry to make sure the economy Malaysia stable.
From the census made, the number of tourist arriving over the
last two years has
increase from 880 000 in 2006 to 1 200 000 in 2008. So, we can
conclude that the
number of tourist coming to Malaysia increase rapidly. But, for
this year the numbersof
tourists coming to this country decrease. This happen because of
the worlds economy
fall down and the H1N1 influenza had give big effect to this
industry. To solve this
problem some ways must be taken to ensure our country will be
the first tourist
destination. Such as campaign and promotion.
To attract the tourist come to Malaysia, the government needed
to do campaign to
beauty the country. Government supposed to be coherent to the
citizen to ensure our
environment always clean and comfortable to stay. Besides, our
country has assorted
earth physical surface such as mangrove, lake, river, island,
forest and mountain.
Government have launched a campaign, Sayangi Sungai Kita to make
sure the river
always clean. So, we as the citizens must give our full support
to all this campaign have
been launched by the government.

Beside, to promote tourism in our country we can lunch
promotions and attractive
packages for tourist. To ensure that Malaysia will always be
tourist destination, a long
duration promotion should be scheme. The government also should
expenditure on
publicity and advertisements in any mass media outside Malaysia.
People knew that our
country is unique in variety of races and ethnic, and delicious
authentic Malay cuisine
which can attract the tourist. So, the government should promote
it to the world. For
example, in Sarawak there are miscellaneous of ethnic either
minority or majority whom
have different culture to be expose. It is distinction if
tourist can explore the culture
themselves. Beside, our country have many interesting place can
we promote. Such as
Sipadan Island, Malacca and Tioman Island.
Our country gives the variety of transportation such as taxi,
bus, aeroplane,
ferry, trishaw and commuter. But, are all these transportation
at the satisfactory enough
for the tourism industry? From what we can see nowadays, it seem
like it doesnt fulfill
the standard that can attract tourist. So, the government should
upgrade the transport
system in our country because our transport system can be
classified in low condition.
For example, our country is lack of the number of buses. This
situation causes some
trouble to tourist to move from one place to another place. Even
there are a lot of
upgrade have been done to make sure the road is flexible to the
user, the traffic jam
always happen especially at the big city that trap the tourist
in that situation and waste
their time. So, the government must do something avoid this
problem happen again to
ensure that Malaysia will always be tourist destination.
