GUNUNGKIDUL
Gunungkidul. A district that is located in the southern part of
Yogyakarta.
Gunungkidul is the eastern border of the territory of Yogyakarta
and Central Java.
Gunungkidul consists of 18 districts and 144 villages. Each
district has many tourist
attractions, culture, and various kinds of special food that can
be enjoyed at any time.
Some places of cultural tourism are Mount Images (a hermitage
Raden Mas Said /
Prince Samber Nyowo), Megalithic Sites Sokoliman (This site was
formed in prehistoric
periods in the form of menhirs, fragments menhirs and stone tomb
walls), Mount
Nglanggeran (Mount Nglanggeran is an ancient volcano) and many
more.
Gunungkidul southern border is the Indian Ocean. This makes
Gunungkidul has many
beaches. Some of them are Baron beach, Krakal beach, Kukup
beach, Sadeng beach,
Wediombo beach, Siung beach and many more sea is still a virgin
beach.
Gunugkidul also has many traditional ceremonies are dear to
miss.
Sea Offering Ceremony
This ceremony year held on 1 suro java at 12:30 pm until
finished. This location are on
the Sadeng beach, Sundak and Baron. This ceremony aims to
expressions of gratitude
to God and beg safety, protection and tranquility.
Ceremony Cing-Cing Goling
A routine ceremony held once a year. Carried out annually in the
Village Gedangrejo,
District Karangmojo on Thursday Kliwon java Bakdomulud months.

commemorate the services of Ki Wisangsanjaya of Majapahit

Ceremony Clean Village / Rasullan
