‘‘Semi Open Windows’’

Page 5: Tour Info June 2013

Summer is the warmest of the four seasons. The date of the beginning of summer varies

according to climate, culture, and tradition. In Armenia summer is already in its fullest swing: fears

of snow, hurricanes, tornadoes, heavy rainfalls are bygones. We do not need heaters on at home.

We do not have to wear woolen clothes or warm jackets. The longest days and the shortest nights

are waiting for us.

One of the most important events of June is the Aram Khachaturian International Competition,

this year again with wide geography. As usual TourInfo appears as the information sponsor of the

festival. This June Yerevan has a great opportunity to enjoy the musical performances of represen-

tatives of 13 countries, to hear the delightful sound of cello.

“Semi-Open Windows” with Hrach Muradyan is the number one talk show and the highly

rated one among Armenian TV programs. “TourInfo” magazine starts to cooperate with the high-

ly charitable program for our guests to be informed about the stories presented during the show, in

the case of eagerness take part, comment and donate.

The second month summer is going to start with pleasant news. We are celebrating the 10th

anniversary of “Orange Trading” Company and “TourInfo” magazine. As an ingredient of the cel-

ebration in Golden Palace hotel with partnership of Solutions project will be held a forum dedicat-

ed to the development of tourism in Armenia.

After it comes number one Armenian film festival “Golden Apricot”. This year “TourInfo”

pleasantly takes the informational sponsorship of the festival on its shoulders. The middle of the

hot Armenian summer will be full of sweet apricots and too interesting films.

Have a summer with no particular time constraint, no worries – just endless days of child-like

enjoyment. It’s time to indulge in something completely mindless.

Welcome To Armenia8

Aram Khachaturian is a great composer,

standing at the peak of Armenian musical culture

and having an unusually significant contribution

to the classic music of the past century. His talent

is revered and loved by connoisseurs of art,

regardless of ethnicity; his works are understand-

able worldwide. The works of this talent are close

to heart and loved by people on different conti-

nents, his music can truly be considered as the her-

itage of all mankind. UNESCO mentions the name

of Khachaturian among the most famous com-

posers of the twentieth century, and puts his

“Sabre Dance” from the famous ballet “Gayane”

on one of the first places in the list of the most

popular works of our time.

It is impossible to overestimate the importance

of the composer’s art for the world music culture.

Taking into consideration this indisputable fact,

from 2003 in June 6-13 in Yerevan is being held

Aram Khachaturian international competition.

Originally the competition was aimed at identify-

ing talented young musicians in three specialties –

“Piano”, “Violin” and “Cello”, but since 2011

young composers also have been provided with an

opportunity to participate in the competition.

Since 2007 State Youth Orchestra of Armenia

(Artistic Director and Principal Conductor Sergey

Smbatyan) has been the official orchestra of Aram

Khachaturian International Competition.

Geography of participants is very wide, it

incorporates representatives from the U.S.,

Canada, Mexico, France, Germany, Spain, Italy,

Belgium, Britain, China, Belgium and other coun-

tries.

The project is implemented thanks to joint

efforts of RA Ministry of Culture, “Aram

Khachaturian-competition” Cultural Foundation

and Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory. It is held

under the high patronage of the First Lady of RA

Mrs. Rita Sargsyan, who is the honorary chairman

of the board of trustees of the competition.

In 2012 the third prize of the Aram

Khachaturian International Competition was

awarded to Nakamura Daichi from Japan, the first

prize was shared between Pavel Milyukov from

Russia and Tanabe Ayako from Japan, and the sec-

ond prize was not awarded. For the first time in the

history of the competition the jury made a decision

to award the Grand Prix, and the lucky winner of

the award became Fedor Roudine (Russia/

France), who was also awarded a special prize in

the nomination “Audience Award”.

Aram Khachaturian

International CompetitionPerforming Struggle of Representatives from 13 Countries

Page 9: Tour Info June 2013

In 2013 on 6-14 June the 9th Aram Khachaturian

International Competition will be held for cello specialty

only. This year Yerevan will witness performing struggle of

cultural representatives from 13 countries:

The jury staff is composed of such prominent musicians

as Aleksey Seleznev (Russia), Anja Lechner (Germany),

Aram Talalyan (Armenia), Cristian Florea

(Moldova/Romania), Erkki Lahensmaa (Finland), Ole

Akahoshi (USA/Japan), Tanya Dorn (Germany), Timora

Rosler (Netherlands/Israel). A list of these names guarantees

impartiality and determines the status and high level of the

competition.

The Aram Khachaturian International Competition

Organizing Committee determines the following prizes for

violin specialty:

First Prize - $15 000 (US dollars) and Laureate Diploma

Second Prize - $10 000 (US dollars) and Laureate

Diploma

Third Prize - $5 000 (US dollars) and Laureate Diploma

Non-prize-winning finalists will each receive a $2,000

grant and a Diploma.

Consolidation of so many talented people of different nationalities within a single project has

also another important result: the guests of the capital are being introduced to the age-old culture

of Armenia, they are visiting the sights and later taking away with them wonderful memories of

the land, which history goes far back in the days when Noah’s Ark settled on the biblical Mount

Ararat.

It is noteworthy this year the classic music world celebrates the 110th anniversary of great

Armenian composer Aram Khachaturian, on the occasion of which Aram Khachaturian

International Festival will be held worldwide within the whole year. Diverse cultural events are

planned to take place in the framework of the event.

The aim of the festival is to propagandize Khachaturian music all over the world. Particularly

the State Youth Orchestra of Armenia headed by its Artistic Director and Principal Conductor

Sergey Smbatyan will perform Khachaturian music in Riva del Garda (Italy), Moscow, Saint

Petersburg, New York and many other countries.

“Semi-Open Windows” is a program, a reali-

ty show at Armenian TV channel ATV and is con-

sidered to be one of the most famous and high

rated TV programs in Armenia. This is the num-

ber one talk show with Hrach Muradyan. He is

both the producer and the host of the show.

The program hosts people having some prob-

lems who tell their story, their problem and try to

get a solution.

The tourist magazine “TourInfo” starts co-

working with the highest-rated charitable program

“Semi Open Windows” representing the most

interesting and remarkable stories in its pages for

the guests of our country and of course stimulating

and encouraging every kind of support and dona-

tion. “TourInfo” magazine is the informational

bridge between the tourists and the TV program.

The Interesting interview held with Hrach dis-

covered for us many things about his program.

From the very start the program was created as

a TV product that would involve in it some social

groups and the most important thing that would

separate the program from other programs was the

principle that all the stories must be only true;

there couldn’t be any spurious, hired people or

actors, false stories.

And of course during the time the program

automatically created its’ target audience, the cir-

cle of the people for whom it was important and

who were ready to appear in the program and tell

their story. The program started to get attention

and signals from different people and countries

reaching up to Argentina. It grew so much that

became something like a social movement and in

the course of time gained the trustworthiness of

its’ target audience which gradually got wider and

wider. And even as a half-serious joke there was a

tendency that people in the case of any problem

with someone or some state body threatened that

would take them to “Semi-Open Windows”. This

of course proved the rating and prestige of the

show.

Already over 4 years have passed since the

creation of the program and these 4 years have

been a really long way and experience for the

show. But the longest way still waits and the pro-

gram still has many things to do and a mission to

complete.

Of course it is not always that the problem can

be solved by the program but it does its’ best

beyond its’ possibilities to solve even the most

primitive social and household problems of the

people who appeared in the pavilion of the “Semi-

Open Windows”.

It should be mentioned that the program does-

n’t have any stereotypes. Any interesting story can

be adapted to the TV format.

Now what concerns to the “Semi-Open”

Charitable Foundation.

The foundation was created in September of

2012 when it was already difficult to solve all the

problems in the limits of the program. So there

was created a legal field which controlled the

donation avoiding of any kind of discomfort and

problem.

A huge stuff works on the program and it is

considered to be a very expensive TV product.

And consequently the program needs donations to

widen its possibilities. There is also an idea to

have a separate window during the program with

special translation specifically for the people with

listening problems.

There is a call center through which the stories

are told and discussed before the program. The

“Semi-Open Windows” program and foundation is

a bridge between the benefactor and the family

that needs support.

YouTube Channel, Facebook page and

Facebook group are a social network board where

they place information about the people who has

problems and need care and support and here are

organized donations. It still works only in

Armenian, but soon people will have an online

chance to sign up and create their page and it will

become multilingual.

Both the “Semi-Open Windows” reality show

and the charitable foundation are ready for cooper-

ation with people who will try to make a charity.

Donation and Charity nowadays doesn’t have

any space difficulty or obstacle.

Welcome To Armenia16

The first two days of July are considered to

be too important for “Orange Trading” Company

(which publishes the magazine in your hands

“TourInfo”) and generally for the development

and activation of Armenian tourism.

On Julythe1stwe are proudly celebrating

our 10th anniversary. Yes, it is already 10 years

that “Orange Trading” company promotes a great

spectacular activity in the field of tourism and

advertisement; it is already 10 years that it pub-

lishes the first and only free Armenian tourism

magazine TourInfo. July the 1st is a day of ana-

lyzing, summing up and of course enjoying the

fruits of a 10-year-hard-work.

The anniversary and the forum on the topic

of tourism organized by the “Orange Trading”

Company and the “Solutions” project will be

held in Yerevan Golden Palace Hotel with the

participation of many leaders, businessmen,

ambassadors, representatives of tourism.

The "Solutions" project is the next logical

step by the team of the Leadership School

Foundation ( www.leadershipschool.am ) with

the belief that youth is the power of solutions for

the development challenges of Armenia. The

Solutions team believes that enabling active

youth through work & business opportunities

they can support the development of Armenia

and realization of the fullest potential of its citi-

zens.

The Solutions project has already organized

several development-oriented forums with par-

ticipation of professionals from Piers

Cumberlege (senior director / head of partner-

ship, World Economic Forum) to Dr.

ArmenDarbinyan (Russian-Armenian State

University rector; Prime Minister of Armenia

[1998-1999]).

It is worth mentioning that lately on May 25

in Congress Hotel was held the graduation cere-

mony of the students of Leadership school.

Besides it was also the day of the last lecture for

them. In the presence of many guests, business-

men and business lady leaders the graduating stu-

dents were making their last historic meanders.

The already former students and future leaders

got their certificates, listened to a lot of useful

advice, and expressed their emotions about the

course they have passed in the school.

The Longest Journey Begins from a Single Step

just in the airport will be formally held the

opening ceremony of the “Armenia Visitor

Center” founded by the heads of “Orange

Trading” company as a next in turn surprise

for the tourists of Armenia.

“Armenia Visitor Center” is going to be a

too helpful place for the guests of Armenia

who will get here a huge stuff of information

and all the answers to their questions with the

help of young workers experienced in the field

of tourism and communication.

The tourist just in front of the gates of the

city before entering Yerevan will be already

well informed about the city, about its cultural

and entertainment places and step over the

threshold already having the city in his pock-

et. Just from here the tourists will get the first

and only free Armenian magazine “TourInfo”.

And still “Orange Trading” company has

vision of the future to be realized and accom-

plished.

Dear readers and friends, the “TourInfo”

magazine and the “Solutions” project

( www.solutions.am ) invite you to join us

business community and state agencies, vari-

ous international organizations & embassies,

and to share your experience and opinions.

If you have recently lost a tooth from tooth decay,

gum disease (gingivitis), periodontal disease or from

injury, you have probably considered or have been

curious about dental implants.

Tooth implants are typically more expensive than

more traditional alternatives. The cost depends on a

number of factors including what dentist or surgeon

you go to, the type of implant and procedure, how

many and which teeth you need replaced, how many

implants are required to support these teeth, how much

insurance coverage you have and your geographical

location. Once you get an examination and talk with

your dentist, they will be able to provide you with a

price estimate.

A single tooth implant typically costs $1000 to

$3,000. However, if additional procedures such as

bone grafts, extractions and extensive imaging and/or

modeling are required, the price can easily inflate to

$5,000 to $10,000. Your dentist will be able to give

you an idea of what costs you are looking at after a

preliminary examination. An implant is only part of

the process though. An abutment and crown for a sin-

gle tooth adds an extra $500 to $3,000. The average

total cost paid by consumers for all procedures, abut-

ment, crown and implant is $4,250. A 3 or 4 tooth

bridge mounted on two implants can cost anywhere

from $5,000 to $15,000 (the average being $8,500). A

full set of upper and lower implant supported dentures

ranges from $25,000 to $95,000 (average of $34,000),

depending heavily on the condition of your gums, jaw

bone and existing teeth (if any).

In Europe and USA already hair implantology

costs from $4500-$12.000 depending on sex.

Now attention: In Armenia and particularly in

‘Avanta’ clinic tooth implant costs $250-$500. This is

an unexpected price for everyone who comes to

Armenia from abroad. Everybody gets surprised hear-

ing this too minute cost. Implanting your teeth in

Armenia, in ‘Avanta’ you will save as never. This is

one of the most convenient prices in the whole world.

When the quality is high and the cost is low.

Be always healthy and wealthy!

Welcome To Armenia54

Annual International Film

Festival Golden Apricot was

established in 2004 in Yerevan,

the capital of the Republic of

Armenia, by the “Golden

Apricot” Fund for Cinema

Development, the Armenian

Association of Film Critics and

Cinema Journalists, supported by

the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of

the Republic of Armenia, the

Ministry of Culture of the

Republic of Armenia and

Benevolent Fund for Cultural

Development. Internationally

acclaimed Canadian-Armenian

director Atom Egoyan was

named President of the festival

since 2005.

The Golden apricot

International Film Festival car-

ries the theme Crossroads of

Cultures and Civilizations. The

title may well serve as our impas-

sioned mantra for building cultur-

al bridges and fostering dialogue.

It also reflects the history of

Armenia itself, which for millen-

nia has existed as flash point for

competing geopolitical forces.

Armenia’s desirable geographic

position has made it into a bone

of contention for various

empires, but has, on the other

hand resulted in the civilization

replete with world influences and

dynamic arts heritage. We wel-

come films representing diverse

ethnic groups, religions, and nations that depict the human expe-

rience, the daily lives of people, ordinary and extraordinary, their

troubles and their joys, as they try to find meaning in a changing

world; as they struggle to redefine themselves in a world that rec-

ognizes fewer and fewer boundaries.
