THALASSO CENTRE

The Tombolo Talasso Resort is a haven of wellness in one of the most enchanting area of the Tuscan coast. Sea water is pumped directly from the sea at 900 meters from the coast line into five pools inside a grotto. Each of these pools has a specific shape and function. In the main pool a temperature of 34 improves the skin's absorption of marine elements making it the perfect setting for exercise sessions; the hydro-massage pool features jet showers and underwater hydro-massage beds; the hot and cold water cycle of the Kneip pool stimulates blood circulation and its pebbled floor gives the legs and feet a natural massage; the “Emotional Pool” has a temperature of 36 and allows natural floating thanks to the higher salinity of its water which permits personalized water treatments such as AquaCranial and Water Balancing, in total privacy and relaxation .The Spa is the first step on a path to relaxation and wellness made of many unforgettable moments: beauty treatments, fitness programmes in the gym, Day Spas and, most of all, Thalassic treatments which make use of all the elements of the marine environment to promote a renewed psycho-physical balance. The beautiful park surrounding the building and the large sandy beach with its 200 white beach umbrellas help to promote cheerfulness and wellbeing. The Turkish Bath, Roman Bath and Finnish Sauna have natural lighting as do the rooms and corridors of the Spa and the Thalasso grotto.

FONTE DEI MEDICI

The village of Fonte de' Medici dates back to 1400 and is located in the heart of the Chianti Classico region. Around the village lie the vineyards belonging to the Antinori family vineyards, which produce two of their best-known wines: Tignanello and Solaia. It takes its name from a fresh water spring, which served as a resting place for pilgrims on their way from Florence to Rome.

Fonte de' Medici consists of two separate villages.Santa Maria a Macerata is a typical "Chianti" village, in which are housed the reception and communal facilities such as the swimming pool, the "Trattoria della Fonte", the conference room, the wellness center, the tennis court and a number of apartments. Taking the picturesque country road that passes through the vineyards, one arrives at Podere Tignanello, on the hill that faces Santa Maria. More attractive apartments and a second swimming pool are located here, in a peaceful setting surrounded by countryside.

THE WINERIES

TENUTA GUADO AL TASSO

Tenuta Guado al Tasso extends from the green hills surrounding the old village of Bolgheri down to the sea. Tenuta Guado al Tasso, that covered about 4.000 hectares, was part of feudal lands and belonged to the della Gherardesca family, a historical noble family. In the Thirties the land was inherited by Carlotta della Gherardesca Antinori, mother of Piero Antinori. Nowadays the estate covers over 1.000 hectares, 300 of which are planted with vineyards, and the rest with wheat, sunflowers and olives, included the wood of the “Macchia del Bruciato”, where piglets of “cinta senese” breed are raised in a halfwild state.

WinesThe 300 hectares (750 acres) planted to vineyards on the property are in the center of the so-called” Bolgheri amphitheater”: rolling hillsides which surround a splendid plain which slopes gently towards the sea and create a micro-climate with unique characteristics. Guado al Tasso, the flagship wine of the estate, expresses all of the force and suppleness of this corner of the upper Maremma. It has contributed to raise Bolgheri to the level of the most important areas of Europe‟s viticulture, expressing a decisively Mediterranean character of power, elegance, and balance.

TENUTA DELL’ORNELLAIAwas founded in 1981, in a beautiful, unspoiled part of Tuscany. From the outset, the mission was to produce outstanding wines. Since then passion and dedication, coupled with a unique territory and an extraordinary microclimate, have brought the Tenuta dell'Ornellaia's prestigious labels great success and recognition as one of the most important wineries in the world.

WinesTenuta dell‟Ornellaia‟s production philosophy is based upon the belief that wines must be the most faithful expression of the terroir that produces them.Our respect for the Estate‟s unique territory guides all aspects of production: limited quantities to ensure maximum quality, attention to every detail, selective hand harvesting, microvinification and ageing.

Biserno is set in western Tuscany, in the coastal area of the Upper Maremma. The estate lies among the hills of Bibbona. Previously unknown to wine production, it borders the DOC of Bolgheri. The vineyards of Bibbona and Bolgheri meet each other, as Marchese Ludovico Antinori observes, “very similar to Saint Emilion and Pomerol.”

Biserno is our estate wine, representing the pinnacle of all our achievements at Tenuta di Biserno. Only the very finest grapes are selected for the blend, which is a carefully crafted balance of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and a very small quantity of Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot.In the best vintages, such as 2007 and 2008, Biserno is a wine of depth, intensity, complexity, longevity and elegance.A thought-provoking wine which reflects the terroir and the excellent microclimate of the coastal area of the Upper Maremma.

TENUTA ARGENTIERAThe Tenuta‟s owners have always paid special attention to this fascinating place by exalting, in every possible way, the nature of a land that is strongly dedicated to the production of excellent red wines. 75 of the estate‟s 500 hectares are planted with specialized vineyards, all falling into the DOC Bolgheri [Registered Designation of Origin] Bolgheri and IGT Toscana appellation with a total production of about 500.000 bottles. Within the DOC Bolgheri area, Tenuta Argentiera is the closest estate to the sea and the one that reaches the highest altitude, spreading from the plains to the hills. Its vineyards are completely surrounded by a luxuriant Mediterranean vegetation, and the countryside where the Tenuta is situated is circumscribed by avenues of secular maritime pines and olive groves, in a charming and richly-scented landscape.

THE WINE CELLARThe project for the Wine Cellar draws inspiration from the architectural styles typical of the Tuscan coast between Livorno and Grosseto, with leaning, rather thick walls that guarantee the natural thermoregulation of the cellars. The grapes, after being hand-selected and picked from their bunches in the collection rooms, fall directly by force of gravity into the vinification cellar underground, right into stainless steel barrels for fermentation both through pressing and through remounting and delestage systems. An efficient computerized system guarantees a constant temperature by means of hot and cold water flows. Lastly, the wine refining cellars hold the Barriques in French oak, maintained at 16 C at all times, where the vinification process is completed.

Tenuta Tignanello

with its famous Tignanello and Solaia vineyards, is situated between the Greve and Pesa valleys in the heart of Chianti Classico exactly between the little villages of Montefiridolfi and Santa Maria a Macerata, 30km south of Florence.

Tignanello covers 319 hectares of land, 127 of which are planted with vineyards, These are divided into small plots: the Tignanello vineyard covers 57 hectares with the 20-hectare Solaia alongside. These lands derive from Pliocene marl, with shaly, chalky elements, and are situated at an altitude of 350-450m, enjoying warm days and cool nights during the growing phase.
