Understanding Network Traffic is Crical to the Health of Complex Network

•  Load Balanced Environments across mulple switches

•  Link Aggregaon, Trunking, and Ethernet Bonding deployments

•  High Availability and Redundant Environments

•  Any infrustructure where each connecon can flow across

mulple links and ports

Load Balanced Environment

The benefits of TOTAL VIEW PLUS are realized across many facets of a load balanced,

high availability and Link Aggregated environments, including virtualizaon strategies,

tesng & development, server consolidaon, business connuity, workflow/load analysis,

applicaon delivery, security, logging and regulatory compliance.

TOTAL VIEW PLUS eliminates the guesswork:

The Challenge: How to monitor network transacons across mulple ports

and mulple physical switches, and report on these transacons as if theycame from a single link. How to consolidate these packets in real-me to

create meaningful performance, security, applicaons and user reports.

•  Maximizes IT budgets and ensures posive ROI by improving network performance;

•  Provides real-me alerng for rapid troubleshoong and problem avoidance;•  Ensures eff ecve bandwidth and transacon management;

•  Improves user-base producvity and professionalism through substanve transparency;

•  Provides auditability for policy and compliance purposes;

•  Improves security.

This integraon off ers the following key funconality:

TOTAL VIEW PLUS and its MulView Sensors surpass the limitaons

of FLOW based soluons by focusing on the life-cycle of network

connecons in load balanced environments. This provides

unparalleled performance monitoring, network visibility, security,

and compliance, through end-to-end connecon tracking and auditability.

With TOTAL VIEW PLUS and its MulView Sensors, you are now able to monitor mulple links at

once, even across mulple physical switches, and consolidate the data into one series of

reports. This technology is designed for:

Monitoring Traffic in Load Balanced EnvironmentsWith TOTAL VIEW PLUS and a MulView Sensor, you can monitor traffic on several load balanced links and

view those reports as if they came from a single virtual link. The MulView Sensor tracks connecons

in real-me even though packets from these connecons are dispersed among the mulple links on separate

physical switches.

For example, in the illustraon below, packets from a single transacon from headquarters to the datacenter

may travel through all the available links (A, B, C and D). Tradionally, auding this traffic was performedby tracking FLOWS on each link and manually consolidang the data. This process only produced a limited

view of the traffic and could not produce any crical informaon to support performance and transacon

monitoring. Tracking these transacons is now possible with TOTAL VIEW PLUS.
