Subject Matter Expert (SME) Program

SME Program• Workers who participate in the Work Instruction Performance Training Process, through increased

knowledge and experience, can earn qualifications along a hierarchical course. • As a worker gains experience and knowledge the process allows for elevated designations and

responsibilities. • The SME process encourages workers to gain experience and expertise in assigned job tasks. The

process also helps to prepare workers for increased responsibilities and leadership positions within a Job Family and all of Total Safety.

All regions and districts of North America have trained and experienced Subject Matter Experts able to instruct other employees on Total Safety’s Best Practices.
