KOSTT J.S.C. manages the Transmission System of the Republic of Kosovo, by operating high voltage assets of 400 kV, 220 kV , 110 kV and medium voltage level assets of 35 kV, 10 (20) kV. KOSTT is the first public company in Kosovo certified with ISO 9001:2008, since 2010. As a result of the central geographical position of Kosovo, the Transmission System operated by KOSTT, although small in size, represents a very important transmission hub in Southeast Europe. Investments

Planning and development of the transmission system infrastructure is conducted in accordance with the Transmission Development Plan (2013-2022).

Capital projects worth of 150 Mil. € have been implemented during the period 2006-2013 in KOSTT.

KOSTT is responsible for the processes of planning, analyses, monitoring and control of power flows in the Kosovo Transmission System in a safe, reliable and continuous manner, 24 hours a day/365 days a year. In line with the applicable technical codes, KOSTT ensures continuous, qualitative and safe supply of consumers with electricity, from the transmission aspect. KOSTT also ensures synchronous operation with other Transmission System Operators (TSOs), and provides system operation services.Power flows in the Kosovo Transmission System are monitored and controlled by KOSTT's National Dispatch Center.

Kosovo Electricity Market

In line with the License issued by the Energy Regulatory Office, Kosovo electricity market is operated and administered by KOSTT J.S.C. Foundations for a sustainable competitive electricity market in Kosovo have been set with the Kosovo Electricity Market Design, approved by ERO in March 2013. In this context, Market Rules were prepared and are soon expected to be approved by the ERO.

Participation in the Electricity Market in Kosovo

Any party that wishes to trade in the Electricity Market of Kosovo is required to obtain the License by the Energy Regulator's Office in Kosovo (ERO) and to sign the Market Rules Accession Agreement with the Market Operator (KOSTT). Currently, (September 2013) there are 17 licensed/registered parties in the Kosovo electricity market.

Human Resources in KOSTT

KOSTT staff plays a substantial role in the accomplishment of company's objectives, and in the successful performance evidenced throughout these years. KOSTT pays special attention to their welfare, health, working conditions and professional development and advancement. Currently KOSTT has 369 employees. From a gender perspective, due to the nature of work in KOSTT, 87% of all staff members are male, whereas 13% are female.
