PRINCE WILLIAM SOUND SCIENCE CENTER A.S.L.S 2001-5
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
This project is a DOWL survey design build project. Originally this site contained a gravel pad located along New England Cannery Road that is being used as an RV park and there are also three campsites which include raised tent platforms for tent camping, this portion makes up about a quarter of the lot. The remainder of the lot consist of a small wetland area located along southern border and a stream crossing the southwest corner of the lot. The remainder of the lot is covered in tall trees with sparse understory the ground in this area has many hills and valleys about 20 feet in height. The treed portion of the lot makes up roughly about a third of the lot. DOWL survey performed a topographic survey of the existing conditions on site as well as the necessary boundary retracement In May 2018 we were contacted Katrina Hoffman President/CEO, Prince William Sound Science Center Executive Director, Oil Spill Recovery Institute. A crew was sent to the site to conduct a Topo Survey and tie existing property corners. Supporting Documents Record Plat: ASLS 2001-5, Plat 2006-9 DOWL Staff Party Chief: M. Rucinski Crew: K. Rucinski Survey Office Manager: Mike Davis Survey Project Manager: Willie Stoll Survey Control & Methods CONTROL- 551 was held as the basis of coordinates for this project. 551 Was Static tied and the file was sent to OPUS, this OPUS value was used to process remaining permanent control points. PROPERTY LINES- The lines in the drawing are of record from Plat 2006-9. RTK Topography- 551 was used as the base station for all RTK topo. Conventional Traverse- For Conventional TOPO a traverse was run starting with base line from 551and 553 and ending on the same points. Boundary Survey- All property corners were tied from the traverse control points.

Horizontal Control
Vertical Control
Coordinates are based on an assumed datum in U.S. Feet. Bearings are based on the Plat of ALASKA TIDELAND SURVEY NO. 1610 filed as Plat No. 2006-9 in the Cordova Recording District, Third Judicial District, State of Alaska.
Elevations are NAVD88, and are based on the Geoid 12B OPUS derived value for point 551, a 3" aluminum monument, having a value of 59.45 U.S. Feet.
TBM#601 is a spike set in the base of a spruce tree, south of the gravel pathway and southwest of the public rest stop building, on the south-side of property, having an elevation of 18.63 U.S. feet.

Traverse Methods
Horizontal control was performed by conventional line of sight traverse methods using at Trimble Total Station Instrument. Direct doubled angles to the fore site and back site result in closed horizon angle sets. Distances ahead and back were measured and recorded in feet and meters.
