The key to this being a useful tool is setting the Nodes correctly so the EHR will recognize and give you credit for that exam data.

It is also important to create an exam that is realistic and not just there to give you credit for an exam that you might not completely do.

For example: This is a Right Shoulder Exam for a Orthopaedic Surgeon:

GENERAL: Appears Consistent with Age.

MUSCULOSKELETAL: Right Shoulder Exam:

Full flexion, extension without pain. Full internal and external rotation without pain. Full abduction to 180 without pain going up or coming down. Drop arm test is negative with good strength and no pain. No pain with resisted supination. No tenderness over the anterior subacromial region. No tenderness over the anterior glenohumeral joint. No tenderness over the AC joint. No tenderness or swelling over the clavicle. No tenderness over the deltoid region.

DERMATOLOGIC: Skin turgor is normal.

NEUROLOGIC: sensation is grossly intact.

Pulling MediSYS schedule into EHR

This is an option that has to be set up be MediSYS.

Advantages to having the schedule interface:

Just let us know that you would like to have this done and we will create the interface for your clinic.

Your clinic will still schedule all appointments in MediSYS.

You can access the Patient chart and create an encounter without having to search for and then select for the patient.

Patient Check In Option from MediSYS

This is an option that has to be set up by MediSYS.

Just let us know that you would like to have this feature set up and we will create the interface for your clinic.

The feature would mostly benefit a clinic that has a Front desk person that is so specialized that they do not need to go into EHR except to create an encounter.

This would allow that employee to create the encounter from MediSYS without having to go into EHR.

Let us know that you would like to have this interface set up for your clinic.

For Immunizations to transmit across to the ADPH system through the interface, the superbill must be set up in the following format with all applicable information assigned.

1. Click on Settings from EMR home screen.

2. Click on Superbill.

3. Enter CPT Code in the free text grid for Procedure Code.

4. Enter name of the immunization.

5. Choose the Immunization Reference Type.

6. Choose the Immunization Procedure Type.

7. Choose the Template of your choosing from the drop-down list.

8. Enter the NDC code if applicable.

9. Enter the CVX code.

Note: The CVX Code must be input into the superbill to ensure that it will transmit to ADPH through the interface. This is NOT based upon the CPT Code so this value must be input.
