6.4 Multiplication involving Money to the

highest product of RM10 000

Multiplication of money involves multiplying adecimal number by a single digit number.

(i) Multiply the numbers only (ignore the

decimal).

(ii) Place the decimal point according to the

money being multiplied.

Remember to add the RM sign to your answer.




Activity:

Multiply the following: RM 3.25 x 7 =

1. Multiply the numbers only3 2 5

Division involving Money with dividend

not more than RM10 000:

Division of money involves division of adecimal number by a single digit number.

(i) Use long division and start dividing

the digits from the left to the right.(ii) Place the decimal point according to the

money being divided.

Remember to add the RM sign to your answer.

Mixed Operations involving Addition

& Subtraction Money up to RM10 000:

Eg. En. Samad who is a farmer sold his cows forRM 6666 and his goats for RM 3128. Samad gave

RM 5000 to his wife Pn. Khatijah . How much moneystill owned by En. Samad?

RM 6666 + RM 3128 – RM 5000 =

RM 6666 RM 9794

+ RM 3128 - RM 5000

RM 9794 RM 4794

Hence Samad still owned RM 4794.
