PRIVATE LESSONS AND GROUP CLASSES Effective November 9th, 2009 all private lessons and group classes will last from 50 to 55 minutes depending upon the discretion of the instructor. The last 5 to 10 minutes will be used to fill out student information charts and reviewing the information with the student.

August 1st, 2014. Hello everyone and Happy Birthday to all our Au-gust Birthday Friends! Miss Ellie is looking so good and has the greatest cute hair cut! I hope She keeps it. She is still a little incapacitated but it is always great to see her when She visited the Studio. Hopefully She will be back soon if only for a few days a week. It has come to my attention that some Students are not diligent regarding canceling their lessons. Our teachers are always available for your appointments but it is most important that you let them know at least 24 hrs. beforehand if you intend to can-cel. Please remember that should you not cancel your lesson within 24 hours, an hour will be taken off your program. Of course emergencies are total-ly acceptable. Norman has changed the date for “Stars Dancing for Cures to September 20, 2014. The Heritage Dance Foundation will be partnering with “Cures for the Colors” (mine is Orange) a non profit support for cancer patients founded by Southeastern Oncology in Goldsboro, NC. All the funds will remain in Wayne County to help cancer patients. Dr. Zwerling will be producing the fundraising event while Norman and Ella Hooker are the Chairpersons for the event and also will be organizing and teach-ing all the cancer patients, students and teachers. Joy and her cohorts have already been busy get-ting Sponsors and all the Students are totally sup-porting the new “Cure”. Should you need to know

Lost and found: Please be aware that all articles left at ZPAC and Top Hat will be either trashed or sent to the Salvation af-ter a month. (Kidding) However …. Guys, take care of your stuff! Speaking of which, JoAnn has misplaced her glass-es. These glasses are very expensive as Jo has special issues with her eyes. Top Hat’s Showcase is just around the corner (Saturday October, 4th) and with “Cure for the Colors” and the Showcase, private lessons are at a premium. Please contact your Teacher re your Private les-sons. As for the Studio: All is well. Norman’s Ballroom classes continue. Beginners, Thursday at 7PM. Monday, Intermediate, 7PM and Advanced at 8PM. Stars Dancing for Cures Norman and Ella Mae Hooker, co- organizers and professional Ballroom dance instructors for Stars Dancing for Cures. "This

fun event will not only raise awareness for cancer prevention, but it will also help support our Colors for Cures fundraising

efforts." The event will feature fourteen well know names from Wayne County who are cancer survivors. They will be paired

with dancers and instructed by Norman and Ella-Mae Hooker of Top Hat Ballroom Dance Studio. They will learn one dance to

execute before a judging panel on September 20, 2014. You will also be able to make a donation and vote for your favorite

dancer online at www.starsdancingforcures.com . Awards will go to the dancer with the most online votes and to the best danc-

er of the evening. A heavy hors deoeuvers will also be served the night of the benefit. Dinner is at 6:00 p.m. and will feature

dessert, and a cash bar. The show will start promptly at 7:15pm with special guests.

About Southeastern Cancer Care

Southeastern Cancer Care is a support organization for cancer patients and their families in eastern North Carolina. Southeast-

ern Cancer Care exists to assist cancer patients and their families with basic living (food, utilities, required transportation);

emotional encouragement (support groups, prosthetics/wigs, volunteer opportunities) and assistance with cancer care (financial

assistance for treatments, prescriptions). These services will be provided through fund raising efforts such as: sponsorships in a
