TOP AD CAMPAIGNS OF THE 21ST CENTURYNow, in a story that’s sure to get the whole ad industry talking, we’re naming the top ad campaigns of the 21st century—so far.

Given how much marketing has changed in such a short amount of time, this list is a way to highlight how campaigns have evolved (now seen in new channels and in new forms) and how some aspects of marketing still endure (a memorable slogan, character or musical phrase still works, even if where consumers encounter them has shifted). Realizing that it’s only been 15 years since the last century ended, this list will be The Top 15 Ad Campaigns of the 21st Century. To determine the list, Ad Age has invited industry experts from agencies and marketers to be part of a panel that will vote on the winners from a list of 50 nominees that include everything from T-Mobile’s flashmob “Dance” to Burger King’s “Subservient Chicken” to OfficeMax’s “Elf Yourself.” Readers will also be able to weigh in with their picks.

The Top 15 list will be published January 12th online and in print, as well as be incorporated into an Advertising Age eBook (Kindle only). We’re seeking to create a rich, multimedia online package using HTML5/CSS3. This digital experience will feature the ads in video and beautiful images, interviews with some of the creators and judges and other interactive elements.
