1) Brand yourself for the job
Employers hire SPECIALISTS who MATCH the job, not people who say, “I can do anything.”
How?
• Learn job titles that match your skills and interests
Identify related job titles
Example: Copywriter
Advertising Copywriter
Senior Copywriter
Marketing Specialist
Marketing Assistant
Content Specialist

WHY: Contacting the hiring manager GREATLY improves your hiring chances.

• Email him/her. Include: ‐ Why you’re writing ‐ Your resume + samples, reference
letters, LinkedIn recommendation list ‐ That you already applied ‐ Ask for an interview

3) Change your resume
Resumes are SCORED by how closely they match the job. Those that don't match, FAIL.
