Rolla V

“Eliminates conventional

marking”

Rolla V uses a unique process involving two

semi-circular followers that support the material

throughout the bend, wrapping the component

around the punch tip.

Eliminates conventional ‘die line’ marking on

bent components.

No tool contamination from materials such

as Galvatite or Aluminium.

Bend components with holes next to the

bend line without hole distortion.

Small flanges possible with minimum

marking.

Large adjustable style also available.

* Min. bend angle may vary depending upon punch tip radius

and material thickness.

** These dimensions apply bending Mild Steel and Aluminium.

With Stainless Steel these dimensions may increase slightly.

Pneumatic Hemming Die

“A permanent fixture on your

press brake”

The use of ‘Hemmed’ or ‘Dutch Folded’ safety

edges often slows down the production

process. Amada’s Pneumatic Hemming Die

gives added versatility by also acting as a

60mm die block spacer or single V die holder.

Tool base can be permanently set on the

machine lower beam, enabling traditional

tooling and bending to be carried out as

normal.

When ‘Hemming’ is required, the pneumatic

hemming die is activated, allowing this

process to be completed ‘in-cycle’.

Full hardened and ground solid length

hemming tool, eliminates marking.

Correct Use of

Press Brake Tooling

Warning

Before using Amada Press Brake Tooling, please read the Press Brake Operators Manual

carefully and follow all application instructions. Failure to follow these instructions may result in

damage to the tooling which may splinter and cause bodily injury.

1. Please inspect the tooling thoroughly before use. If you find any defect or damage to the

tooling, it should not be used.

2. When changing the tooling, make sure that the punch and die are aligned, and in the case

of the NC model, re-calibrate the final depth position before using the new tooling.

3. DO NOT APPLY PRESSURE TO ANY PART OF THE TOOLING IN EXCESS OF THE

MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE PRESSURE. The maximum allowable tonnage is specified on the

largest tooling in the package and is rated in kN/m or in TONS/FOOT. The maximum

allowable tonnage can be calculated as follows:

TOOL RATING x LENGTH OF PART BEING BENT =

MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE TONNAGE

Calculation example:

<Tool Allowable Tonnage>: 1000kN/m (30 TONS/FOOT)

● When the length of the part to be bent is 0.5m, the maximum allowable tonnage is:

1000kN/m x 0.5m = 500 kN

● When the length of the part to be bent is 0.5 FOOT, the maximum allowable tonnage is:

30 TON/FOOT x 0.5 FOOT = 15 TONS

4. When using a 2V die, in order to promote safe operation and avoid injury to the operator in

the event of breakage of the tooling, place the V opening to be used towards the rear of the

press brake. (If the maximum rated tonnage is exceeded and if the tooling fractures, it will

fracture towards the rear of the machine away from the operator).

EXCEEDING THE MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE TONNAGE FOR THE TOOLING CAN BE VERY

DANGEROUS AND MAY RESULT IN TOOLING DAMAGE, SUCH AS SPLINTERING, WHICH MAY

CAUSE BODILY INJURY.

The maximum allowable tonnage may vary, depending upon the punch and die used. Always calculate the

maximum tonnage with the lowest rating of the punch or die.
