O Lord, after Thy Resurrection on the

third day, and the worship of the Apostles, Peter cried out unto Thee: Women had courage, and I was a coward! A Thief confessed Thee as God, but I denied Thee! O Lord, the lawless nailed Thee

between malefactors and pierced Thy Side with a lance, O Merciful. But Thou who destroyed the Gates of Hades, accepted burial and Arose on the third day. The Kingdom of God is not food and drink, but Righteousness and Ascetic Practice, and Holiness; therefore rich men will never enter it, except those who place their treasures in the hands of the needy. This is what David the Prophet taught when he wrote: “Righteous is the man who is Merciful day in and day out, who delights in the Lord. He walks in the Light; he will not stumble.” All of which was written for our edification, so that, while Fasting, we do Acts of Kindness; and the Lord will grant us – instead of earthly gifts – the Things of Heaven.

with confidence Thou adored the All Precious Cross of Christ.

Praise Him with tuneful cymbals;

praise Him with loud cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.

Thy prolonged polluted state with all Thy prior defilements like a wall, prevented Thee from beholding the august Holy Sites of Christ. Then Thy mind went to God, when a prick of Conscience and awareness of what Thou had done had their effect on Thee, to a higher Lifestyle, converting Thee. For gazing at the Icon of the Ever Blessed Mary, the Maiden of God, Thou condemned Thine every transgression in the past, O All Lauded One, and then with confidence Thou adored the All Precious Cross of Christ.

I waited patiently for the Lord, and He heeded me; and He heard my Supplication.

After Thou had worshipped in the Holy

Land with rejoicing, therein also Thou received the Salvific means for Thy Road to Excellence. And Thou ran earnestly the fine Way of Virtue. Having crossed the Jordan River’s stream, unhesitatingly Thou began Thy residence in the place where John the Baptist had lived before. And by Thine Ascetical Way of Life Thou subdued the passions’ ferociousness with confidence, O Saint, and carnal throbbings Thou minimised, O Mother Ever Memorable.

And He established my feet on Rock

and kept straight my steps.

Dwelling in the wilderness, Thou

blotted out every image of the passions from Thy soul, having in their place instead printed on Thy soul the sublime Godlike Form of the Holy Virtues. And Thou shone forth to such an extent that Thou were able to fly across the waters, O Blessed One, and levitate above the ground when Thou raised Thy hands up to God in Prayer. Now, O Blessed Mother, All Glorious Mary: as Thou

Very early in the morning, on the first

And they said among themselves: “Who

But when they looked up, they saw that the stone had been rolled away - for it was very large.

And entering the Tomb, they saw a

But he said to them: “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, Who was crucified. He is risen! He is not here. See the place where they

O Lord, having smashed the Eternal Bars and burst bonds asunder, Thou Rose from the Tomb, leaving Thy grave clothes behind as evidence of Thy True Burial for three days; and Thou went ahead into Galilee, while being guarded in a cave. Great is Thy Mercy, O Saviour, beyond understanding: have Mercy on us!

Praise Him for His Mighty Acts; praise

Him according to the greatness of His Majesty.

O Lord, the Women ran to Thy Tomb to

see Thee, the Christ Who had suffered for our sake, and approaching, they found an Angel seated upon the stone rolled back, with fear but he cried out to them and said: The Lord has Risen! Tell His Disciples that He has Risen: He Who Saves our souls.

Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet; praise Him with lute and harp

Lord, even as Thou came out of the Sepulchre, although it was sealed shut, likewise Thou entered where Thy Disciples were – the doors being shut as well. Thou showed them the Injuries sustained by Thy Body, which with Long-suffering Thou accepted, O Saviour. As the Progeny of David, Thou endured the Wounds; as the Son of God, Thou freed the world. Great is Thy Mercy, Incomprehensible Saviour! Have Mercy on us.
