Respect. Excellence. Acceptance. Community. Honesty. Dear Parents and Families: Calling all Parents to listen please!!!!! This Term we are finding a number of our older students NOT finishing expected tasks or projects, not returning notes, deciding to pull out of programs specifically designed and implemented to benefit all students in a number of ways, academically, socially and emotionally. These programs and classroom expectations are not negotiable and are a very big part of your childs learning. Many students are coming to school saying my parents said I dont have to do itor that my parents dont care”. Could this be you? I would hope not as I know we have had wonderful support from our parents and I would be most upset to think that parents would be saying such negative comments regarding schoolwork. Please check with your child each night and ask if they have notes to be read and signed. We need you to be supporting both your child and the school in ensuring your child participates in ALL aspects of their learning so we can provide them with the skills they need in life and future learning. This way we can ensure that we work together as a team to benefit your child s learning. The role of parents in the education of their children cannot be overestimated. Unknown STUDENT PORTFOLIO RETURN: Please remember that your child s portfolio which was sent home with reports is NOW DUE BACK AT SCHOOL. These portfolios are a collection of work done by your students and are constantly updated throughout the year. Please send yours back now. CAMP COOLAMATONG: We still have a few places left for Camp Coolamatong. If you would like your child to attend please let the office know ASAP. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to develop friendships, build social skills, learn about our environment and try new and exciting activities. CALLING ALL GARDENERS: Thankyou to those parents who put their hand up for our gardening team, a couple more would be great. The Garden Group will assist in the erection of the hot house and future planting, etc. If you can assist or help in any way please see myself, Mrs Blunt or Kate. PARENT OPINION SURVEY: Parent Opinion Surveys were sent home this week. Families who receive these surveys to complete, are randomly selected by a computer generated program. Staff at ANPS do not see the personal responses of these surveys. All surveys are completed online. Please remember to check your childs school bag regularly in order to not miss out on important information. CANTEEN NEWS: Hopefully everyone is aware of the changes to our Canteen which took place last week including the new menu. Please ensure you read the information which was sent home which includes everything you need to know including how to download the QKR! App to place orders. If you have any questions, please dont hesitate to call the ladies. Jo 0402 781 496 Nicole 0409 115 944 JENJO GAMES: Our Jenjo Games Fundraiser closes next Monday. In support of our ‘Environmental Day’ (Friday July 27th) ANPS will be having a ‘Rubbish Free Day’. We request that all parents support this event by ensuring that children’s ‘snacks and lunch’ are packed in containers or materials which can either be recycled or reused with minimal or no rubbish going into the school bins. It is hoped that the ‘Environmental Day’ will assist students in gaining a greater understanding and connection with their environment and the need to care for it.

ENVIROMENTAL DAY

We finally made it to 100 days of school on Friday 20th July!

We created portraits of what we would look like when we turned 100!

We decorated biscuits with icing sugar, snakes and smarties.

We decorated our 100 days of school crown.
