How To Get Published - Ditch The Pitch? Does Social Media Help Authors Sell Content?Sat 7 Sep, 2 - 4pm £12/£10
Few would dispute the popularity and convenience of networking online. But it is time-consuming, sometimes all-consuming. Does it really help sell the content authors devote their energies to creating? Or are they just caught up in the hype? How can the undisputed potential of social networking, embraced by publishers such as HarperCollins and online retailers such as Kobo, be harnessed as a tool to suit you?
off the page presents a debate hosted by Stirling Centre for International Publishing and Communication, in which a publisher, an agent and an author will discuss the value of social media for authors, from generating sales to raising that all-important profile.
Adrian Searle (Freight Press), Mark Stanton (Jenny Brown Associates) and Meaghan Delahunt (In The Blue House, The Red Book and To The Island) will give their views.
Hosted by Stirling Centre for International Publishing and Communication.
