Algebra -- We will continue working on Literal Equations and Solve Inequalities. At then end of the week we
will work on Functions with domain/range, function notation, and evaluating a function. Any student that
had a failing grade on the test we took on Thursday needs to come in before school or activity period to do
corrections.
Advanced Geometry -- We will review Monday and take Test #1 on Tuesday. Then we will work on Angles and
Angle pairs the rest of the week.

Advanced Biology will discuss the chemical characteristics of water and its importance to life on earth. They
will do an investigatory lab over the properties of water. They will take a test on Friday that covers lab
safety, the scientific method, and the properties of water.
Advanced Chemistry will continue practicing the math of chemistry and the concepts of lab safety. They will
also practice reading lab equipment correctly using certain and uncertain digits. They will take a test Friday
over these concepts.
Human Anatomy will continue reviewing the cell and cell membrane. They practice terminology and dissec-
tion skills on a large pickle.
AP Physics will begin discussing kinematics in one dimension.

Engineering Design and Presentation / Concepts of Engineering:
Students will begin learning about sketching. We will practice multiple styles including perspective, Isomet-
ric, and oblique drawing.
Advanced Engineering Design and Presentation 2:
Students will work on their visual analysis project, and continue to learn about elements and principles of de-
sign.
Advanced Physics:
Students will continue to learn about linear motion, focusing on gravitational acceleration.
Advanced Engineering Design and Problem Solving:
Students will finish the Desktop Organizer group project, and begin learning about simple machines.

In English I, we will be starting a short story unit. We will also have a test on Thursday that covers figurative
language and the grammar that we have been reviewing. In Advanced English I, we'll be having our first
graded discussion over our summer reading, finishing and presenting a group research project, and writing
another vignette that is due on Thursday. All classes will have a vocabulary quiz on Friday.

ELA III/ DUAL CREDIT ELA III AND IV

English III-This week students started reading The Crucible. We will continue reading this play this week
while stopping to do close readings and study plot elements throughout. We will also continue working on
how to become an active reader.
English III DC-Students have started reading about writing (in their book They Say/I Say-The Moves that Mat-
ter in Academic Writing) and will continue to do so. We will discuss the book and practice writing before
writing any major essay. Students will also begin reading The Scarlet Letter and studying the literary ele-
ments the author uses throughout the novel.
English IV DC-Students have been learning about the Anglo-Saxon literary time period to prepare for reading
Beowulf. A brief introduction will continue next week and students will begin reading the epic poem.
Note for all classes: Students are quizzed randomly for reading that is assigned in class and for homework.
