Method Statement

FOR TOILETS WITH SpECtite CW 100 CEMENTITIOUS FLEXIBLE TWO COMPONENT WATERPROOFING SYSTEM

1. The main contractor shall fix all the pipes and plumbing work (running through walls) and if necessary, construct boxes (masonry) around pipes running on the slab.

2. The main contractor shall plaster the brick walls of toilets with a thin plaster and lay a 25mm x 25mm fillets (cement, sand) at slab wall corners and allow to dry.

3. Clean and prepare the surface to receive the waterproofing.

4. Wet the concrete and allow the surface to partly dry so that it is damp.

5. Apply 1st coat of SpECtite CW 100 2-part flexible cementitious waterproofing membrane by brush in one direction at wet film thickness of 0.75-1.0mm on the floor slab and upto 300mm (or to required height) above the finished floor level on the wall and in shower area of toilets up to 2m height. Allow to dry for minimum 3 hrs.

6. Apply 2nd coat of SpECtite CW 100 2-part flexible cementitious waterproofing membrane by brush in one direction at wet film thickness of 0.75-1.0mm on the floor slab and upto 300mm (or to required height) above the finished floor level on the wall and in shower area of toilets up to 2m height.

7. Allow to cure for 2 days.

8. Carry out water testing by ponding the relevant area with water for 3 days (water shall be supplied by the main contractor at the point of working)

9. The main contractor shall lay cement sand protective screed (tile bedding) on the waterproofing soon after water test is complete.
