Year 2

Kingfishers thoroughly enjoyed In-

ternational Day this week. We were fasci-

nated with the countries we learnt about

(Philippines and Japan). When learning about

the Philippines we decorated a Sarimanok

bird, the legendary bird, with bright colours

of paint or paper. We also learnt how to do Japanese writing.

Reception

The children in reception

had a fantastic day at

Hamerton Zoo at the end

of last term. Despite the very hot

weather, with many of the animals

staying in shelter to keep cool, the

children were very well behaved

and thoroughly enjoyed their day.

Year 6

On Monday,

year 6 spent

the afternoon

taking part in

their Godly

Play. They listened to the story of the

Good Samaritan and then took part in

a range of activities including writing,

drawing, construction and role play.

The children all thoroughly enjoyed

the afternoon

and gained a

deeper under-

standing of the

meaning behind

the parable.

A HUGE well

done goes to

Lily Kelk in

year 5 and

Sienna Bailey

in year 2 who

both competed in the Na-

tional Roses Competition in

Milton Keynes representing

their club, Spalding Gymnas-

tics Academy.

Sienna came away with 2

bronze medals for vault and

trampet and Lily with silver

on beam, bronze on floor and

4th on the trampet.

Brilliant result

girls!

Year 3 & 4 Re-enactment Day

Further to our letter sent

out regarding the year 3 &

4 Anglo Saxon re-

enactment day, we would

like to make you aware (as

this was missed

off the letter) that we

would like children to

dress up on this day.

KS1

Year 1 and 2

had a great

time at the end

of last term

sharing their

home learning

projects with

their parents

and carers.

Thank you to

all of the par-

ents and car-

ers who joined

us to share in

the children’s

work.

Year 5

As part of their

‘Allotment’ Topic last

term, children in year

5 had a visit from

Mrs Slator who is a

horticulturist and

they planted some

sunflower seeds and

learnt more in depth

knowledge about how

plants grow.

Year 3/4

During their ICT lesson, children in year 3/4 had a

Skype date with Mrs Hales in Australia learning all about

communication and how it has changed over the years. We also got

to have a go at an old typewriter and homemade phones again!
