• Are any sentences unnecessary or repeating old information?

• Am I using transition words and phrases between paragraphs and ideas?

• Am I repeating too many of the same transition strategies?

• Pair up with one (or two) you have not grouped up with before• Review each student’s essay and answer the following question1. What is the students’ thesis (take this directly from the text)? Are there any problems

with the thesis criteria we discussed on Monday? 2. What is the student’s forecasting? Is this fulfilled in exactly the same order in the body

paragraphs of the essay? 3. What transition words/phrase does the student use? Circle them in the essay and write

3 or more here. Are any repeated? 4. Is there any content in the essay that doesn’t seem related to or contradicts the

thesis? If so, what is it? 5. Are there any transitions between paragraphs of the essay that are difficult to follow?

(Hint: check the last sentence of the preceding paragraph and the first sentence of the new paragraph. You may simply write the paragraph numbers here)
