Think of the last time you went to the store to buy an item. Every time you buy something you must pay a sales tax on the product. In order to find out how much sales tax you will pay you must find the percent of a number.
Why is computing a given percent of a whole number important?• You will know exactly how much you will pay
when you buy something.
• You will be prepared for tests like the CST.
• Are there other reasons why?
