The Exhibit is in full swing in the main
hallway at the 210 Ave C building! This
year’s theme is the Illinois Bicenten-
nial, 1818-2018. There are five mixed
media collage-type artworks on dis-
play. Classroom groups discussed,
researched, and composed their
pieces according to what individuals
thought were important to highlight
about our state. You’ll find historical
information, popular culture identified
with Illinois, social awareness topics,
and expressions of celebration! Per-
sons served, staff, and visitors have
the opportunity to vote for their favor-
ite works and also for Best In Show.
Award ribbons will be presented on
June 13th.
Pictures of the exhibits and the win-
ners will be in next months To The
Point

I’m a Superhero!
If I were a superhero, my special power would be mind control. I would have the
ability to control the planet around me with my mind. I could use the elements of air, thunder, fire,
earth, lightning, and water to help save the homeless and protect the world. I would be a modern day
Avatar!! I would stop crime, save and protect the homeless, and help all the animals who need my
help. I would also help protect the innocent civilians from all the people who would try to hurt them,
My superhero name would be Mentalico, master of the planet!! I might also hold auditions to promote
someone to be my sidekick. I even know who my first one would be… my favorite little buddy, Noah!
Yay! (As long as his mom and dad approve, of course!) His power would be the ability to clone him-
self and the ability to control anything metal. (Hi, Cloneto!)
Thank you, and have a nice day! L.L.
Super Hero
Hi, my name is Mr. Strange. I am a vigilante to assist the city of Chicago. I am here to reduce crime
and better the lives of the civilians. I have several powers. I have the power of flight, super strength, x
-ray vision, bio-shock, and I am indestructible. I can survive space travel, time travel, and breathe un-
der water. I volunteered for an experiment in which I was transformed into my current state. Although
this was a scary process, I am glad I did it. It not only helps the study on genetics, but now I can help
everyone have a nice and quiet place to live; without crime: a place where everyone can feel safe and
empowered.

Thought for the Month
“He has achieved success who has lived
well, laughed often, and loved much;
Who has enjoyed the trust of pure
women, the respect of intelligent men
and the love of little children;
Who has filled his niche and accom-
plished his task;
Who has never lacked appreciation of
Earth's beauty or failed to express it;
Who has left the world better than he
found it,
Whether an improved poppy, a perfect
poem, or a rescued soul;
Who has always looked for the best in
others and given them the best he had;
Whose life was an inspiration;
Whose memory a benediction.” ― Bessie Anderson Stanley American Writer
