Con tributions from academics policy makers research personnel and manlt)gers in public institutions as well as those in private organizations an industry are welcome Ho~ever it is required that manuscripts submitted to the Journal should jot have been published and will not be simultaneously submitted or published elsewhere Researc] papers roust also be factual land original

Contributions to the Journal will normally if clude original research wor~ papers on science and technology policy and technical notes and 90mmunications As the JoUrnal is a prime source in information on science and technology for de elopment contributions that fall within the following areas are particularly welcome

MANUSC TS PREPARATION

Manuscripts should be prepared in Microso Word 60 and above Two qopies of the manuscripts on A4-size paper and a soft copy on cd sh uld be provided The manuScript should not exceed

5000 words and specialist terminology and ootnotes should be avoideq Each paper should be provided with an abstract of about 150 word reporting concisely on the purpose and result of the paper All papers will be published in Englis~1 The names(s) of the auth9rs(s) should only appear on the title page which will be detached frOI the paper before the referees comments are invited

Mathematical analysis and statistical data hould be placed in appendices whenever possible Numbered tables figures and illustrations s ould have their intended p~sition in the printed text clearly indicated Photographs in black and white should be printed on iglossy paper or scanned into text at the intended position For ilJustr tions the original and one ltjopy should be provided if the illustration is not scanned into the tex Similarly line drawings should either be provided in soft copy or be in a fonn suitable for repro uction in Indian ink with l~ttering etc completed

(b) The advertisement will be interspersed within the various pages of the Journal and will be charged at a flat rate ofUSD1 000 per B -sized page for two (2) issues or USD 1 800 for four (4) issues on a running basis
