PRAYER OF POPE LEO XIII

Saint Michael Archangel, defend us in battle,

be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil;

may God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and you,

O Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God,

cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits

who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

NOVENA TO ST MICHAEL THE ARCHANGEL

The feast of St Michael the Archangel is on 29th of September. We may

prepare for that event with a nine-day novena to the Prince of Heavenly

Hosts. Do not hesitate: ask him for blessings for you and your

family. Pray this prayer daily for nine days.

Make the Sign of the Cross.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son,

and of the Holy Spirit.

Amen.

O God, come to my assistance.

O Lord, make haste to help me.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.

As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world

without end. Amen.

ACT OF ADORATION

Prayer taught by the Angel in Fatima.

My God, I adore You, I believe in You, I hope in You,

I love You. I ask pardon for all those who do not adore You, who

do not believe in You, who do not hope in You, who do not love

You.

Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, I adore You

profoundly and I offer up to You the Most Precious Body and

Blood, Soul and Divinity of the same Son, Jesus Christ, present

in all the tabernacles of the world, in reparation for all the

blasphemies, outrages and indifferences by which He

is offended.

And I draw upon the infinite merits of the Most Sacred Heart of

Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary that You might convert

poor sinners.

ACT OF CONTRITION

O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended you, and

I detest all my sins, because I dread the loss of heaven, and the

pains of hell; but most of all because they offend You, my God,

Who are all good and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve,

with the help of your grace to confess my sins, to do penance

and to amend my life. Amen.

OPENING PRAYER

Let us pray.

God our Father, in a wonderful way you guide the work of angels

and people. May those who serve you constantly in heaven keep

our lives safe from all harm on earth. Grant this through our

Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, who lives and reigns with you and

the Holy Spirit, God for ever and ever.

NOVENA PRAYER

Saint Michael the Archangel, loyal champion of God and His

People. I turn to you with confidence and seek your powerful

intercession. For the love of God, Who made you so glorious in

grace and power, and for the love of the Mother of Jesus, the

Queen of the Angels, be pleased to hear my prayer.

You know the value of my souls in the eyes of God. May no stain

of evil ever disfigure its beauty. Help me to conquer the evil spirit

who tempts me. I desire to imitate your loyalty to God and Holy

Mother Church and your great love for God and people. And

since you are God’s messenger for the care of His people, I

entrust to you these special intentions:

(Specific intentions need only be recited on the 1st day. Mention your

requests.)

Lord, hear and grant my special intentions for this Novena that

I bring before You.

Pray for me, St. Michael, and also for those I love. Protect me in

all dangers of body and soul. Help me in my daily needs.

Through your powerful intercession, may I live a holy life, die a

happy death and reach Heaven where I may praise and love God

with you forever. Amen.

ACT OF SURRENDER TO

SAINT MICHAEL THE ARCHANGEL

This is an ancient consecration prayer which is connected to the

shrine at Monte Gargano, one of the oldest Christian sites dedicated

to St. Michael the Archangel.

The most glorious prince of the angelic hosts,

valiant warrior of the Most High,

zealous lover of God’s glory,

terror of rebellious angels,

love and delight of righteous Angels

Saint Michael the Archangel,

desiring to be among your devotees,

I offer myself to You.

I put myself, my work,

my family, my friends and what belongs to me

under your vigilant protection.

Being a poor sinner, my sacrifice is poor,

but you will not despise my heart.

Remember that from now on

I am under Your special protection,

so please, assist me throughout my life.

Obtain for me the forgiveness of my many and grave sins,

the grace to cherish with all my heart my God,

dear Saviour Jesus Christ,

the sweetest Mother Mary

Congregatio Sancti Michaëlis Archangeli and also known as the

Michaelite Fathers, is a religious order of the Roman Catholic Church

founded in 1897 by the Blessed Father Bronislaw Markiewicz, a Polish

priest from Miejsce Piastowe, Poland.

On 29th September 1921, the Archbishop of Krakow, Adam Sapieha,

issued the Decree formally establishing the Congregation. On 15th June

1966, the Congregation was affirmed by the Holy See.

The Congregation of Saint Michael the Archangel is one of the 23

officially recognised groups of the Salesian Family of Don Bosco. The

Congregation now operates in a number of places and parishes around

the world. According to the survey in 2010 they work in 52 houses and

have nearly 400 members.

They run orphanages, schools and youth centres and work with

unprivileged, handicapped, abandoned and poor children including

missionary work in 15 countries such as Poland, Argentina, Paraguay,

Italy, Germany, Austria, Belarus, Ukraine, Canada, the Dominican

Republic, Porto Rico, Papua New Guinea, Australia.

Michaelite Fathers spread the devotion to Saint Michael and the Holy

Angels. They are the guardians of the shrine of Saint Michael the

Archangel in Monte Sant’ Angelo in Italy. The priests and brothers also

run a publishing house so called “Michalineum” and publish

a magazine on St Michael and “The Angels” in Polish and in English.
