TECHAEON is an intercollegiate TECHNICAL FEST of SHRI BALWANT INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY (SBIT) scheduled to be organized from 8th to 9th March 2013. The fest is a huge crowd puller. It provide the student

community with perfect amalgamation of technology, management and fun. The fest covers the entire gamut of events from very TECHNICAL to the very fun filled FUN ZONE.

The word AEON signifies “eternity-evergrowing and everlasting” and tht the technology is it epitomizes the innovations of the human mind to churn out ideas to make earth a better place to live and to transform the creations.

TechAeon’13 is the flagship event of our institute and students of SBIT are planning it on a mega scale this year. This technical fest will be a huge attraction and will have students across the map.

"I'm not an environmentalist. I'm an Earth warrior.”

Yes the time has come that we rage a war, not against an alliance or a country but within ourselves. A battle within our soul, because we have become immune to all but explosions, only then we will understand the gravity of situation. Our mother Earth is dying because of our abominable deeds, for its resurrection we need to take the mantel upon us. Implementing green technology in day today activities is one the ways to save our Earth. Most of us see green technology as recycling, water and air purification, sewage treatment, environmental remediation, renewable energy, energy conservation, and alternative and clean power.Instead of getting intrigued by this competition, put on your thinking caps and save your earth, our earth. The bottom of the oil barrel is now visible, are you the answer 'Earth' is looking for?

Einstein tore apart space and time, ruptured light rays into quanta, and even slushed matter into energy. On the other hand, the three basic laws that Newton gave during his time besides inventing calculus and his many other feats were enough to get comparable mileage. On behalf of Shri Balwant Institute of Technology, Sonepat as your host in this association, it gives me immense pleasure to introduce TechAeon 2013 - our Annual Inter College Technical Festival. I hereby invite you to adorn your participation in this technical caricature. These events are so planned that in the process of exercising their academic intellects, the participants come up with innovations and solutions for the world to take notice of. It will be our pleasure to have you become a part of TechAeon and would be delighted by your contribution to our Nobel theme Reduce | Reuse | Recycle by your valuable participation. It's not only about how big you make a pre-existing venture but also how differently you do it or better still, do a new thing altogether. We, at TechAeon bring forth a string of Initiatives, pushing past inertia and insecurities and therefore developing an attitude of flexible responsibility; a willingness to step in and fill the gap, an urge to be the harbinger of change.

Web-O-Mania

Description:

Participants have to create a website using HTML tags & scripting languages using notepad as editor.

Participation:

Individual Participation only.

Rules And Regulation: Only HTML,XTML,CSS tags and scripting language Java script is allowed.Participants are allowed to use only notepad as editor.No CD/Floppies/Removable storage devices are allowed.Font and images will be provided on the spot.Design should work in current browsers and should degrade gracefully in older browser.Client side scripting is allowed.

Code-Decode

Description

You will be given a predefined problem, which will be basically a platform for thinking. You can implement asmany features as you can and implement your innovation and creativity in that software. You are alsosupposed to submit the abstract mentioning features you are implementing. Of course, software developed on predefined problem will be given less weight age. Preference will be given to originality of idea

Participation:

Individual participation only.

Rules and Regulations:

You will be provided with the problem and you have to program on those lines.You can make use of any platform (Windows/Linux) and any language of your choice(Java/C/C++ etc)Copying in any sense will lead to immediate disqualification.Evaluation will be done on the basis of memory usage, approach use and efficiency.

Project-X

Description

Project X is the event designed for all those coding freaks out there with penchant for weird programing inC, C++ and so on. Participants need to bring their own source codes in any programming languages of their choice. Winning and losing will be decided on the basis of points such as indentation, presentation and so on.

Participation:

Two members per team.

Rules And Regulations:

Source code should not be extracted from the internet or any other sources. Participants should bring their own devices (laptops etc) , In case their project requires certain specific software . Final decision will be on the faculty incharge.

This event is for all the freaks who love to design and have good knowledge of the drawing . Techaeon is proving them a chance to showcase their designing skills. Show your logo designing skills.

Description

TechAeon will use counter strike in 3 versus 3 in-game players.The first team to win the round will play the next round. Description

In this event you will be given set of questions and you have to find the answers in least amount of time using the google search engine. So just do go to google and do the doogle.

A maximum of 2 members per team.


Questions will be given on the spotThere will be multiple rounds and you need to qualify each to be the winner.Time , speed and correct answers will be the criteria for qualifying

Technowhiz

Description

So its time for all the Whiz brains to shine in this event. This Quiz is open for all the college as well as outside participants.

Participation:

Each team will consist of 2 members only.


Prelims would be conducted in Auditorium and the Top 6 teams from the prelims will qualify for the Stage round.Stage Round will be a battle of 6 rounds including many different types of question be it audio or visual.Anybody found using unfair means of cheating in the quiz would be disqualified on the spot.

DebateDescription

Debate is contention in argument , dispute , controversy , discussion of questions of public interest . TechAeon is organising a debate on the topic “IOS vs ANDROID” . So showcase your presentation and knowledge skills.

Participation:

Here can be individual participation or team of two members , One will speak “for the motion” and the other one will be “against it”


Each participation have to speak for five minutesCaution should be taken to refrain from displaying obscenityRegistration is free and open to all

Chemical XDescription

Chemical X is the event designed for those chemistry freaks out there with penchant for weird chemical reaction like making colored fire out of kitchen chemicals, playing around with a chromium volcano, pampering yourselves with colorful borax snowflakes and so on and so forth.

Chemical X is held in two stages that test you both on your chemistry theory and practical potential.

Defying Gravity

Description

In this event we are just trying to prove the laws of gravity that we study and learned in our childhood. You need to build any machine which need to hold the object and have to land safely on the surface . You need to safely land the object. (Water balloon or Egg).

Participation:

A maximum of two members per team.


Three turns will be given to each team the team.Among three chances the team which saves the object will be qualified.Additional features will be counted.

Make-It-High

Description

In this event the teams have to make the highest building in least amount of time and the material will be used is brick. Each team's time will be noted. Team reaching the maximum height without destabilizing in a time frame of three minutes will win.

Participation:

A maximum of two members in a team.


Single turn will be given to each team.The team which makes it highest building in three minutes withoutdestabilizing will winMaterials used and given will be only bricks

Description

If you are passionate about electronics and maniac about circuit, TechAeon Circuit Simulation is something that you would never like to miss ! You would be enquired to innovate and design a challenging circuit and pit it against the best from all over the company. If your excogitation is worthy and implementation is impressive, you will be declared champions !! Equation will be provided to each participant on the spot.Participants will have to make the circuit and code it on VHDL software.Those who will show the output ahead of others will be declared as winners.

Trouble ShootingDescription

Trouble Shooting promises to provide an electrifying atmosphere for competitions. Circuits have been designed to test the electro knowledge and concept clarity at grass root levels. Be prepared for an electrifying experience! Get charged up, or else troubleshooting will shoot you out!!!!!!

Participation:

Individual Participation.


A circuit on breadboared will be provided to you. That circuit will have some faculty components in it.You have to replace the faulty components and make that circuit works.Team completing their job ahead of others will be duly rewarded.

Circuit Designing

Description

Have fun with circuits while brushing your basics. Here we provide you with 2 round package and open-to-all round with questions that will give you the “Yes yes, I can crack it !!” feeling. For the second, the participants need to exercise their grey cells and need to think out of the box to optimize the material they are given. Its all about using your hands-on skills to your advantage.Participants have to chose their own topic and prepare a report which will be submitted on the day of the competition.Participants have to bring their own components.30 Minutes will be given to them to prepare a circuit.Participants have to demonstrate that circuit and answer the queries of judges.

Description

In this event you will be provided with an unfinished job i.e. unfinished product and you need to perform the operations such as shaping, turning and so on as given by the organiser. It will be choice of the organiserthat on what machines the activity is to be conducted and what desired result is to be obtained .Team achieving completion of his/her job in minimum time will win.

The job is to be freshly prepared no stealing is allowed from workshop premisesParticipants not performing operations safely will be disqualifiedThe lab technician should be present at all times.

Description

This event is for all the automobile enthusiasts who think they know more about automobiles than anyone. TeahAeon is presenting this quiz to showcase your knowledgeabout automobiles.

Questions will be given on the spot.Qualifier round will be conducted.There will be multiple rounds and you need to qualify each to be the winner.No use of cell phones/internet, anybody using will be liable for immediate disqualification.

Description

Preliminary Round:

2-D Drawing (Isometric view with dimensioning) (20 min.)

Final Round:

3-D modeling with precise dimensions. (30 min) Marks Criteria for the drawing: 1. Sheet Setup. 2. Scale factor as per the drawing 3. Nice aesthetic view of the drawing. 4. Drawing Skills; should consist of unexploded overview. 5. Dimensioning of drawing. 6. 3-D Skills- I. Use of layers. II. Rendering effects. III. Drawing to the precise dimension.

Description

In this event the participant need to make a device or machine(ball launching system) for a specified task using junk. The machine throwing the ball to the maximum distance will win.*Junk is to be brought by the team.

The instrument that is screw drivers, wrenches are to be brought by the participantsNo pre-built mechanism is allowed to be used else team will be disqualified everything is to be made from scrap.No downloading of building plans is allowed from internet.Winning/loosing will be the jury appointed.Winner will receive a gift.

Description

Fasten your bots and set them to the maximum power and get ready for the war2 Opponent Robots will be fighting against each other and the one who crosses the boundary first will loose.

Maximum three participants.


Robot dimension should be 30x30 Max Robot Weight should be max 2kg Power supply limits to 12v No toy cars and lego kits are allowed

Zombie RaceDescription

The origin of robotics can be traced back to early Egypt, where priests used steam-activated mechanisms to open temple doors. Phoenix is giving a chance to build your robot. Build a Robot which may perform not ONLY MANUALLY BUT ALSO CAN BE CONTROLED AUTONOMOUSLY and can perform the required tasks within a stipulated time.Three turns is to be covered by robots on the given path.Among three chances, the minimum time taken by robot to cover the path will be considered.

Description

A platform to showcase the practical talent expressing themselves through working models.

Model should be completely working.It should involve some innovative technology related to the fest theme.Participants must carry the models to college on their own risk.Evaluation would be done by judges. Each model would be given a time of 15 minutes for explanation and working.

Description

Description

Time Limit: 1 Hour.Participants are supposed to bring their own waste materials.Judgment will be based on Innovative Idea, Clear depiction of the message and Colors.This needs to be thought about whether the organizers will provide it or the students will have to bring it .The basic idea is to make best possible and meaningful thing out of waste!

Theme:

Description

Bring out an actor inside you and design a play on the business related issues. An exciting combination

of acting, team coordination, stage presence and many more……..All you stage lovers get crazy and

unleash your talent……..

Participation:

A maximum of eight members per team

Rules and regulations:

Please respect other Role Players AND their roles.

The role play should be in accordance with the theme.

Participants can show various areas of business and management issues

Team should consist from 5-7 members.

The duration of performing will be of 5-10 min.

Case-Analysis

Description

Flexibility, Adaptability, Responsiveness to change, Competition, the ability to deal with ambiguity,

complexity, and diversity- increased important skills for today's managers. A fun filled event to show

the analytical, decision making and communication skills. It's an arena where only the best minds can

survive, so oil your cogs and set the wheels of your mind in motion.

Participation:

A team consists of two members.


Prior registration is mandatory.

A case will be given to all the registered team one day prior to the event.

Teams can get disqualified at any time if the solution is found plagiarized.

The participants are expected to demonstrate their team spirit, analytical ability, decisiveness, marketing

and selling skills. The participants will be assessed on these skills and on their representation of the

problems and solutions of the case study.

PowerPoint presentation is allowed.

Analyze it within a time frame of not more than 20 minutes and enact the solution (as a role play) within

a time frame of not more than 10 minutes.

The judge's decision would be final.

Description

Description

Blind fold yourself and hit the target with your partner.

Wheel Barrow

Description

A wheel barrow race is a competitive game in which teams of two player's race with one teammate playing the role of the driver, and the other playing the role of the wheel barrow. The driver holds on to the other player's ankles, while the other player walks with his hands.

Antakshari

Description

It is a musical game and played with any number of members. Students have to make a team of 4 people, which team stays till last wins the game.

Skulling Game

Description

They will be given some skull shaking drinks and simply you have to drink those drinks but with a simple twist. Twist is that you have to drink the shake like a relay race.

Treasure Hunt

Description

Let's find out who's the most adventurous?? This can have one or more players who will try to find hidden articles, locations or places by using a series of clues. The team which is

first to find all the articles, wins the game.


Participants must have their identity cards. Maximum of 5 members in a team. Time limit: 20 minutes. Hints will be provided. Judges' decision will be final.

Description

A race in which you will have to run following your back.

Song Dedication

Description

Any song can be dedicated to whomsoever you may like. Songs dedicated by the most and to the most will be the winners.

Blow out 15 plastic glasses with the help of air filled in a balloon.

Stack six dice on a stick held in their mouth and balance them.

Make a pyramid out of 36 glasses and get all the cups back

into a single stack.

Toss one shoe onto a table using foot from 10 feet away

within a total of 3 attempts.

A piece of thread is supposed to be passed through an eye of

ten needles. The catch here is that each needle has an eye

that is smaller than the previous one.

General Rules

1. Participants must send the scanned copy of their Registration Form duly signed by the Director/Principal along with stamp of the Institute latest by 4th March 2013 at [email protected].

2. The teams should report at the registration desk with the Original Registration Form (registered online also) from the SBIT website to mark their presence on the scheduled date of the event half an hour before the event starts. No team will be entertained thereafter.

3. It is advisable that at least one faculty member accompany the team (not mandatory).

4. Team leaders must pick up the lots at the cultural desk at the time of their reporting to decide the order of their appearance on stage. The first team must be ready at least 15 minutes before the event. Other teams must be ready backstage when the preceding team is performing.

5. Participants must bring their college identity card with them.

6. An official timekeeper will be there for all events. Performance duration will be strictly followed. In case any team exceeds the time limit on stage, they will be awarded with negative points.

7. All participants must possess their SBIT identity cards to participate in any of the events. Participants without identity cards will not be allowed to participate.

8. Green rooms will be provided 25 minutes before a team goes on stage.

9. Participants must bring their necessary material. Nothing will be provided by the organizing committee.

10. SBIT will not be responsible for any loss of instruments, costumes or jewellery.
