Director’s MessageThe Arnprior Recreation Department hopes that you and your family enjoyed the eventful summer of 2017 and that your time was enjoyable.
2017 is not over and we still have the fall to look forward to with what sounds like great weather and beautiful fall colors to enjoy.
Staff have been working hard to offer a wide array of programs and activities which we hope you find time to fit into you fall and winter routines.
The Seniors on a Roll Program has ended however it showed us how active and enthusiastic the seniors in our community are and we hope to continue offering a variety of programs to meet the needs and interests for residents of all ages.
Have you ever wanted to try a new activity but did not want to invest in the equipment up front? If you do not have equipment or have visitors that may require equipment to become involved, make sure to call the Nick Smith Centre to get more information about our lending hub. We have equipment for all seasons including skates, cross country skis, snow shoes, Nordic poles and so much more.
The 2017 events are not over yet. There are still 50 events left in the 150th Passport so make sure you pick yours up at the Nick Smith Centre today. You will also see our Special Events listing on page 36 featuring events such as The Unity Run, the Optimist Winter Carnival, the Canadian Sr. Broomball Championships, It Shouldn’t Hurt to be a Child Tournament, and the Terry Fox Run.
The Pool will be open in October after our annual fall maintenance program with plenty of programs and lessons for all ages. We have added additional time slots to many of our popular programs to ensure everyone has a chance to participate.
Staff have added some creative youth programing this fall and winter with the opportunity for adults to get involved in the program too. You do not want to miss our hands on cooking classes or art workshops, so sign up early as they will sell out.
Then as always, if you should have a program idea that we do not offer, please feel free to bring it forward and we will see what we can do to have it offered.
Wishing you all the best from the Recreation Department.
Glenn ArthurDirector, Recreation Department

Mayor’s Message2017 has been an fun filled year so far, with many events taking place over the summer months celebrating Canada’s Sesquicentennial Anniversary, including our highly successful Priorpalooza Music Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, Canada Day Celebrations or Concerts in the Park, to name a few. This Fall brings even more exciting events, including the Canada at Play Exhibit arriving at the Museum on September 12th. So please make sure to pick up your 150 Events Passport, to participate in this and other remaining events through to the end of the year.
The Town has also been hard at work completing major infrastructure projects, such as the Downtown Revitalization Project. A complete revitalization of our Historic Downtown Core, is more than just rebuilding the municipal infrastructure, it also involves partnerships with a number of stakeholders, including our residents, businesses and visitors. Although not yet complete, the benefits of the Town’s
investment in the Downtown can already been seen. Aside from the improved streetscape, many businesses have also begun revitalizing their own building facades and new businesses are investing in vacant retail spaces.
Part of this revitalization effort has included the creation of the Arnprior Sunday Market, which is held in the heart of the Downtown along John Street. The Market has quickly become part of many of our Residents’ and Visitors’ Sunday routine. The Market helps to transform the Downtown into a place where friends and family gather to socialize and visit the local vendor booths, downtown businesses and restaurants. If you have not yet had the opportunity to experience the Market, I encourage you to visit on Sundays from 9 am - 2 pm. More information on dates and vendors can be found on www.arnprior.ca/market.
The Town of Arnprior has so much to offer. Please take the time to read through the Fall publication of Arnprior Life to discover the many programs and events for all to enjoy in our beautiful Town.
Warmest Regards,
David Reid,Mayor, Town of Arnprior

Launched in September 2004, KidSport Renfrew County is a charitable program helping children in our community play sports. Sports are one of the few activities where children have the potential to experience positive physical, mental, emotional and social development all in the same environment. KidSport focuses on providing all children with the opportunity to play.
KidSport Renfrew County would love to hear from groups, organizations, coaches, teachers or parents who know someone who is experiencing barriers to participating in sport and recreation. If you are aware of children who are in need of some form of financial support, please pass along the information. Together we can make a difference in the lives of children and youth in our community.
Applications can be picked up at the Nick Smith Centre or by calling 613-623-7301. Renfrew County children between the ages of 3 and 18 years old can apply for up to $250 per season. The Adjudication Committee meets throughout the year to disburse funds for each season’s activities.
Grant Eligibility:
• Preference is given to athletes being introduced to sport for the first time.• Grants are for youth 18 years and under.• Grants are available to residents of Renfrew County.• Eligible activities must be an introductory-level sport that has a series of ongoing lessons, taught by a
qualified coach.• Elite Camps, private lessons, travel to playoffs/tournaments, championships, and equipment upgrades
are not eligible.• Endorsement letters by coaches, registrars and/or directors of clubs/leagues are not acceptable.
Grant Characteristics:
• Grants range from $50 to $250 are paid directly to the sports organization or retailer.• Grants are designed to help overcome social and economic barriers that have prevented or limited
participation in organized sport.• Grant eligibility is one (1) per child/per season. We reserve the right to limit the total number of grants
per family.• Applicants for a registration fee grant must submit a copy of the sport club registration form that
identifies the specific registration fee for the athlete.• Equipment purchase requests are limited in value, must be a reasonable cost, and grant requests must
be accompanied by a detailed summary of the items and all costs, prepared and endorsed by the retailer.
• Grants are not meant to replace existing recreation and/or social service funding for sport participation.
Grant Processing:
• Grants are processed by the adjudication committee throughout the year.• Incomplete and/or ineligible applications will be returned.• KidSport Renfrew County and its members will protect the confidentiality of all applicants and
endorsements to the best of their abilities.• Guidelines are subject to change by the KidSport Renfrew County Board of Directors.

Facility User Liability Insurance ProgramAs of January 1, 2017, it is mandatory for all rental user groups and individuals to carry liability insurance when renting a Town of Arnprior facility. The Town of Arnprior offers a number of sport and social facilities for rent, whether it is for an organized event or a pick up hockey game. The Facility User Liability Insurance Program is offered to users of Town facilities (i.e. ice, fields, halls, etc.) who do not carry their own, or adequate insurance when renting a Town facility.
What is the Facility User Liability Insurance Program? The Town of Arnprior receives a Master Policy issued through Frank Cowan Company covering Facility Users. The Facility User Liability Insurance Program allows individuals and/or groups renting a Town of Arnprior facility to extend liability insurance protection. The intention of the insurance coverage is to protect facility users from financial exposure resulting from claims that may result during their activity or event. The facility user liability insurance will be made available at the time of booking the facility. The limit of insurance coverage will be at $2 million minimum per occurrence.
Facility UsersThe requirement for user groups and individuals to carry liability insurance is specifically for those users renting a Town facility. This program does not apply to use of Town facilities where a facility rental fee is not applied.
Insurance RequirementsGroups and individuals responsible for a facility rental are required to produce and maintain, throughout the duration of the Rental Agreement, proof of sufficient liability insurance coverage.Depending on the type of activity, sport or event, users will be required to have liability insurance coverage of a minimum liability limit of $2 million. The program encompasses the rental of facility space, sports fields, and rentable parkland.
The Liability Insurance Program provides the opportunity for individuals or groups renting our facilities to either:Provide proof that they already have obtained liability insurance that meets the Liability Insurance Program requirements; orBe provided with liability insurance under the Facility User Liability Insurance Program
For information or assistance with facility rentals, contact a Customer Service Representative at the Nick Smith Centre at 613-623-7301 or the Finance Branch, Town Hall at 613-623-4231. Specific insurance queries regarding the Facility User Liability Insurance Program will be forwarded to the Insurer by Town staff as the Town is not licensed to provide insurance advice.
Nick Smith Centre Lending HubThe County of Renfrew in partnership with the Renfrew County District Health Unit received provincial funding to develop Equipment Lending Hubs across the County of Renfrew.
The Town of Arnprior is excited to present the Nick Smith Centre Lending Hub to the community. Featuring a wide inventory of seasonal sports equipment the Lending Hub encourages everyone to get outside and get active with FREE access to this equipment. Arnprior Bluefish Swim Club (ABSC)We are a non-profit, volunteer run organization with the goal of fostering youth fitness, sportsmanship, and friendship for our members. The organization delivers a number of youth programs for all ages and abilities including:• Non-Competitive• Pre-Competitive• CompetitiveMembers enjoy an encouraging environment, exhilarating team atmosphere, and tremendous fitness and character-building opportunities.
Non-Competitive Program:The non-competitive program is ideal for younger swimmers (age 7+) that are interested in trying competitive swimming. It is the ideal next step for those swimmers that have graduated from the Swim Plus program. Swimmers should be strong enough to swim one length of the pool without stopping. The focus of this program is on the Fundamentals phase of the Long Term Swimmer Development (LTSD) model for all four strokes, starts and turns. Swimmers in the non-competitive group can participate in 1 sanctioned swim meet during the season. This program runs from October to June. Practices are twice a week for 50 minutes (Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday) at either 3:30-4:20pm or 4:30-5:20pm.
Pre-Competitive Program:The pre-competitive program is the ideal next step for swimmers from the Non-Competitive program or for older swimmers (age 9+) that have good fundamentals in at least 3 strokes. This program continues to build on swimmer Fundamentals and introduces swimmers to the Learn-to-Train phase of the LTSD model. Team participation and good sportsmanship are developed. Swimmers in the pre-competitive group can participate in 1 sanctioned swim meet during the season. This program runs from October to June. Practices are twice a week for 80 minutes (Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday) from 4:00-5:20.
Competitive Program:The competitive program introduces swimmers to the Train-to-Train and the Train-to-Compete phases of the Swim Canada LTSD model. While becoming more efficient in the water, there is more endurance focus and swimmers in this group are required to swim four or five practices (8+ hours) per week. Setting goals and personal best times comes into focus. The competitive group participates in up to 8 sanctioned swim meets during the season, this includes both local and out-of-town swim meets. This program runs from early October to June. Practices are (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) from 3:30 - 5:20pm, and Sundays 7:30-9:00am.

Adult Pool ProgramsGreyfish Masters Swimming Program
The Greyfish Masters is a volunteer run swim club, focused on improving stroke efficiency, speed and overall fitness in a friendly environment. Our members range in age from in their 20s all the way up to into their 70s. The range of abilities is just as large, from just starting to swim laps up to athletes competing in National (and even International) masters meets or Ironman triathlons.
NCCP certified Head Coach, Shawn Moffatt, delivers workouts geared towards improving stroke technique and efficiency, including starts and turns of all 4 competitive strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly). Improving these skills is essential for those wishing to swim competitively but can also be beneficial for those training for triathlons or just wanting to improve their fitness. The workouts can easily be customized to suit individual goals. Many club members choose to compete in swim meets or triathlons throughout the year to display their skills. However, competing is completely optional and should not discourage new members from joining. For those wishing to compete in Sanctioned Masters Swim meets, there is a requirement to join Master Swimming Canada ($35/year).
The club is open to anyone over the age of 18 who is interested in swimming laps and improving their strokes, turns and starts. Please note that this is not a learn to swim program and it is advised that swimmers can comfortably swim at least 2 laps of the pool without stopping.
There is also plenty of scope for the more social swimmer, with social events throughout the year and breakfast after the Saturday morning swims. The yearly membership fee is for 11 months (pool closed for maintenance in September).

Aquatic Reiki with Certified Reiki Practitioner, Kerri Broome
Reiki is a Japanese technique that may promote healing, reduce stress and increase relaxation. The basic concept underlying Reiki is that the body has an energy field that is central to its health and proper functioning, and this energy travels in certain pathways through the body that can become blocked or weakened. A Reiki session may help to unblock these pathways and may help support the body to facilitate an environment for healing on all levels: physical, emotional and spiritual.
While Reiki is spiritual in nature, it is not a religion and there is nothing you must believe in order to use Reiki. Renowned Certified Reiki Practitioner, Kerri Broome, is pioneering the technique of using Reiki in a pool setting and you’re invited to participate in this unique opportunity. Register today as space is limited to 6 participants per session.

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) would like to remind the public of the dangers that exist at and around the weir, which is located near the Madawaska Blvd. bridge in Arnprior. The weir is an artificial waterfall which helps to control water levels in the Madawaska River as part of hydroelectric production at the Arnprior Generating Station. For your safety, the weir is marked by yellow buoys strung across the river on the upstream side of the weir, and signs located throughout the area warn the public of the dangers. The smooth surface of the water upstream of the weir does not reflect the extremely dangerous undercurrents, and downstream of the weir flows can create recirculating currents that will drown those entering the waterfalls. In addition, conditions can change quickly, and without notice, with calm water becoming fast moving. For this reason access in this area, including the rock outcrops downstream of the weir, is prohibited. Please be cautious when around these areas and obey all signs. Stay Clear, Stay Safe. To learn more about water safety, please visit www.opg.com/

The Arnprior Museum is full of amazing exhibits and information about our local history. When was the last time you visited? Things have changed. We are situated in one of the most historic buildings in Arnprior c 1896, the first to be designated as historically significant and architecturally important in the town. This keystone of Arnprior’s heritage district was designed by Thomas Fuller, the Dominion architect, who also designed the Parliament buildings c 1860. Destined to become a parking lot, it was saved from demolition by the foresight and generosity of David and Jessie Gillies in 1963. The museum is celebrating its 50th birthday in 2017 and has the new Arnprior tartan to show off and to sell. The museum is owned and operated by the Town of Arnprior and receives financial support from the Ontario Ministry of Culture, the Department of Canadian Heritage, the Friends of the Arnprior and District Museum and Ontario Power Generation. Unrivalled views of downtown Arnprior and the best views in town of the Madawaska River make the museum a must-visit for local people and visitors alike. Be surprised and delighted by our award winning exhibits. A meeting room is available on the third floor and another on ground level. If you are looking for a unique wedding experience you can even get married here under our own white pine tree. We are now fully accessible on the ground floor.

Travelling Exhibit - Canada at PlayClassics never die.
In the dead of winter or the heat of summer, outside or inside, Canadian children have always worked hard to have fun.
This exhibition takes a look at our favourite games and toys over the past 130 years. Despite the 20th century’s astonishing developments in science, medicine and technology, some things have remained constant. Children still play with dolls and farm sets. Skating, tobogganing and playing hockey remain an integral part of Canadian winters.
This exhibition will run September 12th to November 9th, open Tuesday to Sunday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. School groups of all ages are welcome and the exhibit can be catered to your curriculum.

Lock It or Lose ItA professional can steal your vehicle in just 30 seconds – without the key. The Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police (OACP) and Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC) are encouragingcitizens to “Lock It or Lose It.” The goal of the proactive crime prevention program is to encourage drivers to take a few simple precautions that will protect their vehicles from theft.
An unlocked door or an open window is an invitation to thieves. The goal of the “Lock It or Lose It” program vehicle security audit reminds drivers to always:• Roll up their vehicles’ windows;• Keep valuables out of sight;• Lock their doors; and• Pocket their keys.
In partnership with IBC, vehicles parked in a variety of locations are checked to confirm that they are locked and that no valuables have been left in plain view. A small notice is placed on every vehicle checked indicating what safety precautions were neglected and offering some simple prevention tips for drivers to protect their vehicles against theft. The notice also congratulates drivers who have ensured that their vehicle is secure, with valuables out of plain sight.
Auto theft costs Canadians more than $1 billion every year. About half of all stolen vehicles are used to commit another crime or are driven – often recklessly – for simple purposes of transportation (this is called ‘destination theft’). In these cases, the thieves are usually amateurs who take advantage of owner negligence by grabbing the first vehicle they can find that’s been left unsecured. In the other half of cases, vehicles are stolen by professional thieves involved in organized crime rings.
The key to protecting your vehicle is in your hands. Keep yourself from becoming an easy target by properly securing your vehicle. Remember: Lock It or Lose It.
More details about crime-proofing may be found on-line at: www.ibc.ca/en/Insurance_Crime/Auto_Theft/
2017 Fall Hydrant Flush Valve Maintenance Program
The Public Works Department in conjunction with the Town’s Fall Hydrant Flush program is conducting a Valve Maintenance Program. The hydrant flush will clean the distribution system by flushing any standing red water. The valve maintenance program is designed to clean and exercise the valves and by doing so will extend their life as well as determine whether the valves are operable. The work is planned for the weeks of September 11th to November 3rd and will be completed in the shortest period of time possible. This procedure is routine but it may result in some temporary inconveniences such as poor water pressure or “red” water. Do not be alarmed.
What you should know:• If coloured water is detected, please open your COLD water taps to clear the
system.• The coloured water is not hazardous to health.• This situation is temporary and should not last any longer than two hours at most.
For more information please contact John Steckly, Director of Public Works at 613-623-4231 ext. 1831

CemeteriesAlbert Street Cemetery and Malloch Road Cemetery (Usborne Street)
The Town of Arnprior strives to provide a cherished public space, created out of devotion, pride and remembrance at its two municipal cemeteries. We request that family members, visitors and historians please abide by the following rules:• Flower beds are only permitted on plots with a monument with the
beds being no wider than eight (8) inches out from the front of the monument. The exception being the cremation section, where no flowerbeds are allowed.
• Cut flowers may be removed at the discretion of the caretaker.• Dogs must be kept on a leash and the dog owner is responsible for clean-up after their animals.• The Town is not responsible for loss of or damage to any articles left upon any lot or grave.• Please help in maintaining an unobstructed, clean, litter-free public space.
To view the cemetery rules and regulations regarding the purchase of plots, burial or general information, please feel free to contact the Town of Arnprior or visit the ‘Town’ section of www.arnprior.ca/cemetery.
Columbaria InformationThe growing popularity of cremation as a method of disposition has generated a demand for an attractive alternative of memorialization. One such alternative is a columbarium. A columbarium is a freestanding,
above-ground structure with recesses in the walls (to house urns) for the perpetual care of cremated remains. These recesses in the walls are referred to as “niches” and are large enough in size to accommodate two standard cremation urns. Each niche is adorned with an individually inscribed granite panel to memorialize your loved one(s).The Albert Street Cemetery includes two recently installed forty-eight niche Columbaria. Those interested in receiving more information or if you would like to purchase a niche, please contact the Town of Arnprior at 613-623-4231 ext. 1818 or 1819.

EMERGENCY 9 – 1 – 1Back-up fire emergency number 613-623-4141

Siren SoundsAt approximately 6 p.m. on Saturday November 4th, a test of the Arnprior emergency siren will be conducted. The emergency siren is tested in the spring and fall of every year, around the time clocks are changed. The phrase “spring forward, fall back” is a helpful reminder of these time changes. The Arnprior fire department makes use of the siren test to serve as a reminder for all Town residents as well as landlords and tenants of rental buildings to test residential smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors and replace batteries as needed.
Please Help Us Help You. Winter Fire Hydrant Maintenance
Despite the best efforts of Town Staff snowfall may still leave some fire hydrants obstructed. The Arnprior Fire Department would like to remind you that a clearly visible, accessible fire hydrant could save your home - or even your life. If a fire hydrant is lost or buried in snow, firefighters can lose valuable time trying to locate it when they first arrive at a fire.
If you feel up to it, you could perform a valuable public service and protect yourself, your family and your neighbors by shoveling out and clearing any fire hydrants near your home during and after a snowstorm that Town staff may have missed.
If you do choose to assist in keeping our Town safe, we would like to offer these suggestions: • Know the location of all fire hydrants in your neighborhood. • Make sure they are shoveled clear after each snowfall. • Clear away any snow and ice in the area surrounding these fire hydrants. • Clear the snow three feet all around the hydrant so firefighters have enough room to connect a hose.
We would also suggest that you to look out for your elderly or vulnerable neighbors as well, by taking a few extra minutes to shovel out hydrants on or near their property.
Please take some time now to save precious minutes in case of a fire. A few scoops of snow today could make all the difference later.

In a fire, seconds count. Seconds can mean the difference between residents of our community escaping safely from a fire or having their lives end in tragedy. That’s why this year’s Fire Prevention Week theme: “Every Second Counts: Plan 2 Ways Out” is so important. It reinforces why everyone needs to have an escape plan. Here are this year’s key campaign messages:• Draw a map of your home with all members of your household, marking two exits from each room
and a path to the outside from each exit.• Practice your home fire drill twice a year. Conduct one at night and one during the day with
everyone in your home, and practice using different ways out.• Teach children how to escape on their own in case you can’t help them.• Make sure the number of your home is clearly marked and easy for the fire department to find.• Close doors behind you as you leave – this may slow the spread of smoke, heat, and fire.• Once you get outside, stay outside. Never go back inside a burning building.

Arnprior Fire DepartmentHome Smoke AlarmsWhy do I need a smoke alarm? Most fatal fires occur at night when people are sleeping. A working smoke alarm will detect smoke and sound to alert you. Effective March 1, 2006, it is the law for all Ontario homes to have a working smoke alarm on every storey and outside all sleeping areas. This covers single family, semi-detached and town homes, whether owner-occupied or rented.
What kind of smoke alarm should I choose? There are two different types of smoke alarms to choose from and they can be electrically connected, battery operated or both. 1. Ionization Smoke Alarms use a small amount of radioactive material to ionize the air between two
electrically charged plates, causing a measurable current to flow between plates. When smoke enters the chamber, it changes the flow of current, which is detected and activates the alarm.
2. Photoelectric Smoke Alarms use a light source that is aimed away from a sensor in a sensing chamber. When smoke enters the chamber it reflects the light onto the sensor, which is detected and activates the alarm.
Where should I install smoke alarms?Because smoke rises, it is recommended you place the alarms on the ceiling. Avoid ceilings near bath-rooms, heating appliances, windows and ceiling fans. The smoke alarm should be installed between each sleeping area and the remainder of the building or where a sleeping area is served by a hallway, install the alarm in the hall. Always install the smoke alarm on or near the ceiling in accordance with the manufacturer's installation instructions.

The Silent Killer Carbon Monoxide Awareness Week November 1 – 7, 2017
Carbon Monoxide (CO) is called the silent killer because it cannot be seen or smelled. Take action to stay safe from CO poisoning. Carbon monoxide (CO) is a poisonous gas. It can make a person feel sick and can be deadly. In the home, heating and cooking devices that burn fuel can be sources of carbon monoxide.
Carbon Monoxide Alarms
• CO alarms should be installed outside each sleeping area. Install alarms on every level of the home. It is best to use interconnected alarms. When one sounds, all CO alarms in the home sound.
• Follow the instructions on the package to properly install the CO alarm.• Test CO alarms at least once a month. • Replace CO alarms according to the instructions on the package.• Know the sounds the CO alarm makes. It will sound if CO is detected. It will make a different
sound if the battery is low or if it is time to get a new CO alarm. • If the battery is low, replace it. • If the CO alarm sounds, you must get fresh air. Move outdoors, by an open window or near an
open door. Make sure everyone in the home gets to fresh air. Call the fire department from a fresh air location. Stay there until help arrives.
Preventing Carbon Monoxide Poisoning
• When warming a vehicle, move it out of the garage. Do not run a fueled engine indoors, even if garage doors are open. Make sure the exhaust pipe of a running vehicle is not blocked. Clear snow away.
• During and after a snowstorm, make sure vents for the dryer, furnace, stove and fireplace are clear of snow build-up.

If the ash tree on your private property hasn’t already been treated to protect against the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB), it will likely die. Emerald Ash Borer, or EAB, is an invasive, highly destructive beetle that feeds under the bark of ash trees. Ash tree mortality is expected to be 100% if a tree has not been protected with special pesticides. An ash tree that has been attacked by EAB is expected to die within 1-3 years.
Winter is coming Dying ash Trees with even just a few dead branches can be extremely dangerous to people and property. Dead limbs are especially susceptible to snapping off during blustery winter weather.
What Should I do with my Ash Tree? If you have an Ash Tree on your private property, the care and maintenance of that tree is yourresponsibility. The Towns Property Standards By-law (6602-16) states “Yards shall be kept clean and free from dead decayed or damaged trees or vegetation that creates an unsafe or unsightly condition or that may cause damage.” The Town recommends that if you have an ash tree on your property, that you speak to a licenced and experienced arbourist to discuss removing dead or dying trees.
Re-plantingTrees add significant value to your home! Not only do they look great, but they provide shade which helps reduce cooling costs during the summer. If you have lost an ash tree to EAB, the Town would like to encourage property owners to replant with new trees that are native to our area. Tree species such as Sugar Maple, Honey Locust, and White Pine can make a beautiful addition to your yard. To help decide what type of tree to plant, consult Ontarios “Tree Atlas” for a list of tree species that are native to Eastern Ontario. The atlas is accessible online at https://www.ontario.ca/environment-and-energy/tree-atlas .
And your ash trees days are numbered

Items like wet wipes (even if they say flushable), feminine hygiene products, hair, dental floss, Band-Aids™, medication, cigarette butts
and used cooking oil cause thousands of dollars of damage to the Town’s underground sewers each year. These items should not be flushed down the toilet or the sink. Please ensure these items are
safely disposed of in your garbage!
Each of the items above should be
placed in the garbage and not flushed down the
toilet.
