The Shaker Heights Board of Education met in regular session on Tuesday, June 17, 2003, at 5:05 p.m. at the Shaker Heights Administration Building, Large Conference Room, 15600 Parkland Drive, Shaker Heights, Ohio 44120. Members present: Mr. Steven S. Kaufman, Ms. Freda J. Levenson, Mrs. Carol J. Ribar and Mrs. Nancy R. Moore. Mr. F. Drexel Feeling joined the meeting in progress at 5:11 p.m. President Nancy R. Moore presided. Upon the presentation of the Minutes of the May 19, 2003 Regular Board of Education meeting, Mr. Kaufman moved, seconded by Ms. Levenson to approve the minutes as presented. Roll Call: Ayes: Mr. Kaufman, Ms. Levenson, Mrs. Ribar, Mrs. Moore. The motion carried. 03-06-65 Upon the presentation of the Minutes of the May 20, 2003 Special Board of Education meeting, Mrs. Ribar moved, seconded by Mr. Kaufman to approve the minutes as presented. Roll Call: Ayes: Mr. Kaufman, Ms. Levenson, Mrs. Ribar, Mrs. Moore. Another item of business for the Board of Education was to set dates to hold the July 2003 Board meeting. The regular meting was set for Tuesday, July 22, 2003 at 8:00 p.m., and a special meeting will be held on Friday, July 11, 2003 at 8:00 a.m.

At this time President Moore asked for comments or questions from the public. Mr. Dan Viera was in attendance and requested that his letter pertaining to a personnel matter previously submitted to the Board of Education be entered into the record. Mr. Viera also requested that the Board provide a detailed written response to the letter. Mrs. Moore indicated that the District would provide a written response. At 5:46 p.m., upon the recommendation of President Moore, Mr. Kaufman moved, seconded by Mrs. Ribar that the Board recess to executive session to discuss personnel matters, finishing the Superintendent’s and Treasurer’s evaluations.
