  • Introduct ionTNT has grown into a strong brand, thanks in part to a unique corporateidentity applied uniformly worldwide. In order to maintain the power ofthis identity, we must meet the chal lenge of consistent application- which calls for constant vigilance, reminders and updates.

This is the second edition of the TNT Corporate Identity Manual, andcompletely replaces the first edition published in 1998. To avoid confusion,we recommend destroying the 1998 edition. The contents of the manualare also available digitally on cd-rom (enclosed). This cd-rom also includesmaster artwork for logo and stationery. Further information can be foundon the websites, housestyle.tpg.com, tnttoolbox.com and tntlivespecs.com.

Aside from the core identity rules, which remain unchanged, this editionoffers detailed information about recent developments and adaptations, including the introduction of the TPG endorsement.

Always remain alert and watchful of the application of the TNT corporateidentity. Remember - the corporate identity is not open to compromiseor local interpretation, and incorrect usage will endanger the legal protectionwe enjoy through international trade mark registration.

With your help, and the careful application of the TNT corporate identity,we can ensure the future success of this powerful brand.

The TNT core identity consists of strong elements that reinforce the uniquequalities of the company. The individual elements that make up the totalcorporate identity carry slightly different messages, and are applied permedia accordingly. Sometimes the logo is emphasised, sometimes colour

is the key point of interest. Corporate media, as covered in this section,is widely seen and used. This makes it even more essential to strictlymaintain consistency in design.

Relationship between TNT Logo andService Quality Award LogosSer v ice qual i ty award logos are useful devices that suppor tthe TNT cla im of being a qual i ty-dr iven company. Over t ime ,the values that these award logos represent are transferredto and become associated with the TNT brand values . As thisoccurs , the TNT logo assumes greater power, symbol is ing topqual i ty ser v ices and products .

Therefore , ser v ice qual i ty award logos should always play asuppor t ing role when used in TNT sales and market ingl i terature .

When using ser v ice qual i ty awards , please consider :(1) the logo propor t ional i ty rule ;(2) addit ional c lear space guidel ines ;(3) one colour requirements for award logo appl icat ions .

Apply ing the above to our l i terature wi l l help to ensure thatthe TNT corporate ident i ty remains the dominant feature andthat TNT benef i ts the most from the secondary presence ofser v ice qual i ty award logos .

Proportionality to TNT logoThe height of the inner circle of TNT logo. The ser vice qualityaward logo must never exceed this propor t ional i ty rule .

Minimum Clear SpaceThe minimum clear space is the distance al lowed between theTNT logo and other elements , such as a logo, typography,i l lustrat ions , photographs or the tr im edge of a printed item. The minimum clear space is a mandator y requirement in al lappl icat ions using the TNT logo. X is equal to the height ofthe T in the TNT logo.

Additional Clear SpaceAddit ional c lear space is 5 t imes x, where x is the height ofthe T in the TNT logo. Please note: the combinat ion ofminimum and addit ional c lear space is equal to 6 t imes x,which is the total length of the TNT logo.
