The Movement to Ban Comic Sans

In 1999, a woman named Holly Sliger was irritated when her boss told her to use Comic Sans for a museum guide.

She disliked the font with a passion. She and her husband Dave Combs started a

movement to ban Comic Sans. They used stickers of Connare’s face to raise

awareness of the overuse of Comic Sans.

Comic Sans is a simple font that became overused. The Ban Comic Sans movement was created to

oppose the use of the font. Although some people dislike Comic Sans, others

commonly it. Comic Sans is still popular today despite the

movement to ban the font.
