COMPOUND SENTENCE

A compound sentence contains two or more independent clauses and no subordinate clauses.

It is joined together by a coordinating conjunction: for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so.

The clause are connected by a comma and a coordinating conjunction, or a semicolon, or a semi colon, conjunctive adverb, and a comma.

A compound complex sentence contains two or more independent clauses and at least one subordinate clause.
