Equal Remuneration Project Communiqué No. 4 – What is the Census? Community Sector Salary Census 2012 In Communiqué 3 we made mention of the Salary Census and gave you some brief information about its purpose. Below is a little more detail about the sort of information we will be asking for, as a way of helping you prepare for the Census. The Community Sector Salary Census 2012 has been developed in conjunction with community sector representatives. It is broken into four areas: Questions about the level of funding you receive from the Tasmanian Government Breakdown of funding into budget salaries against the SCHADS classifications Breakdown of leave liabilities against SCHADS classifications Supplementary questions to assist with workforce profiles and sector development. A Data Guide has been developed to provide organisations with detailed explanations about the Census questions. Funded organisations will have two and a half weeks to complete the Salary Census. We are planning the Census period to be 23 July – 8 August. These dates will be confirmed as soon as possible. It is vital that all organisations employing staff under the SCHADS Modern Award complete the Salary Census, as your funding increase will be based on the information you provide. Testing the Census We have a small number of organisations who have kindly agreed to test the Salary Census for us. They represent a cross- section of funded organisations across DHHS and DPaC. We are hoping that the testing process will help us refine the questions and supporting guide, so we can make this process as simple as possible for you. We will have a very tight schedule to include the testers’ comments into the Census and Data Guide. This may affect the planned start date of Monday 23 11 July 2012
