A landlocked country in the heart of Europe – Austria is not only famous for it’s culture but also for it’s know how and technology in various business sectors. And one of these sectors where Austrian companies are highly competitive and play a vital role in the world market is the maritime sector. Austrian expertise gained from many installations in commercial and naval shipbuilding is more and more contributing to the output in this field of industry. As maritime transportation is a prerequisite for global trade and commerce the need for more, bigger and faster ships has been increasing continuously in the past and gives hope for an even brighter future. A maritime exhibition in a country that has the biggest fleet of ships worldwide is the perfect location to offer an ideal platform for companies doing business in this sector. I am pleased to announce the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber in cooperation with the Austrian Marine Equipment Manufacturers Association is organizing a national pavilion at the Posidonia 2006 (June 5-9). Shipyard Equipment
Palfinger HTC Systems provides innovative solutions for carrying out maintenance work on the inner and outer surfaces of ships in a time-saving, cost-effective and environmentally-friendly manner.
The ITP (Internal Tank Platform) is in series production. The ITP is a special platform with four movable arms for cleaning the interiors of tanks and holds in bulk carriers, tankers and container ships.

Shipbunkering radio-controlled and remote control systems for applications on ships LRC-Small is an innovative high technology filling and overspill prevention system, meeting international safety standards, for the filling and emptying of tanks and ship´s bunkers.
