DESCRIPTION
Tipton Eyeworks strives to produce high quality eyewear that is inspired by and made from upcycled materials. The company was first founded in Seattle, Washington in 1999. In 2000 plastic eyewear prototypes were made from old vinyl records in a fine woodworking studio in Seattle. The company was dissolved and moved to Hungary where it continued operation under the umbrella of the post socialist eyewear company: EMI Mérnökiroda.

The creation of each Vinylize frame begins with the creation of music.
The sound is then carved into copper and pressed into vinyl.

Vinyl that is left over from promotion and distribution is recycled into eyewear, stands and cases.

Records are laminated onto salvaged Italian cellulose acetate. That is why each groovy frame front is backed by a different coloured plastic.

Originally from Seattle, Tipton Eyeworks was re-established in Budapest Hungary in 2004.
