Learning times tables involves a lot more than just chanting them in
order! Use the Times Table Pack to identify specifically which times
tables your child needs to learn. Children need to have instant recall of
both multiplication facts and their related division facts, for example:
8 times 6 = 48 and 6 times 8 = 48
48 divided by 8 = 6 and 48 divided by 6 = 8
The CD contains flashcards of all the multiplication and division facts
up to 10 x 10 as required in the Australian Curriculum. They are
arranged in learning order, not chronologically, because the
multiplication and division facts for ten, for example, are easier to
learn than those for three.

Step 1: Set up your child's Mastery Learning Folder.
Step 2: Join The Homework Revolution Parent Club at
homework revolution.com.au to receive additional flashcards & support.
Step 3: Starting with the first screener, Multiplication and Division for 10,
work through the screeners in order. When your child begins making
mistakes, start at that multiplication/division level.
Step 4. Print off the appropriate flashcard set and pre-test your child on
all the multiplication and division facts at that level. Place any incorrect
flashcards into the Store pocket of your child's Mastery Learning Folder.
Step 5: Begin the Mastery Learning Folder process. Detailed instructions
are in this pack or see The Homework Revolution website for a video
demonstration.

Step 6. Let's start learning!
The Mastery Learning Folder Process ...
* Place not more than 20 flashcards in the Store pocket of your child's
folder.
* Transfer around six flashcards into the first active pocket - the Hive. Now
begins the short daily 'Test & Learn' process. On the first day just spend a
few minutes learning the flashcards in the Hive. On the second day, and
from then on, FIRST test the flashcards in the active pockets moving them
forward to the next pocket when correct or back to the Hive when incorrect.
Then spend a few minutes learning the content in the active pockets.
* When a flashcard reaches the Test pocket, your child transfers a new
flashcard from the Store pocket into the Hive. (If you think they can cope
with a greater learning load, add more, but too many will slow down the
learning process and reduce your child's experience of success. Experiment
to find the appropriate number of active flashcards for your child.)
* Flashcards in the Test pocket are no longer reviewed, they simply wait for
the formal test. This can be once a week or fortnight. At this time correct
flashcards move into the Mastered pocket, the rest go back to the Hive.
* Optional: your child can then colour in their Progress Chart to show the
total number of flashcards in the Mastered pocket. Please note: when the
mastered flashcards reach 20, transfer them to a ziplock bag or box.
* Pre-test the next level of flashcards ahead of time to ensure that there is
