0:00 Intro

0:23 Verse One –

“God knows what is hiding in those weak and drunken hearts. Guess he kissed the girls and made them cry,Those hard-faced queens of misadventure.”

0:37 “God Knows what is hiding in those weak and sunken lives.Fiery Thrones of muted angels,Giving love but getting nothing back, oh.”

0:51 Chorus.

“People help the people, and if you’re homesick, give me your hand and I’ll hold it.People help the people, and nothing will drag you down.oh and if I had a brain,oh and if I had a brain.I’d be as cold as a stone and rich as a foolthat turned all those good hearts away.”

The empty field, close ups on particular things. Filmed in early morning, water droplets on everything and sun coming up. Sun, trees, flowers, sky, grass. Everything is in black and white at this stage.

Clips of singer on the pier, her looking at random objects, running fingers along a bench. Walks over to the side and she is looking out over the water. Various different shots. a wide establishing shot of the pier at the beginning, close up from the side of her, focus on her facial expressions. Also a point of view shot so the viewer sees the water. Slow motion is going to be used to put the focus on her and what she’s doing, therefore establishing a lead model.

We start to see her start to walk down the pier slowly, as if she has nothing better to do, she is aimlessly wandering. Slow motion is again used in these clips. By using a mostly empty pier we can relate it back to the idea that people are alone in the world as she is on the pier alone. On the last two lines we see her walk towards the camera but not acknowledge it. As she walks diagonally to the side of the camera she bumps into two young girls. These are the dancers we later see. They all apologise as we see a point of view shot of their faces before cutting to the next clip.

We start to see her journey really pick up pace as we see her start to walk through a much more urban area. The clips of the singer are mixed in with clips of people in everyday life, showing the smaller struggles and things people may not enjoy. Mainly this will show the smaller problems we never normally pay attention to or help out, we will also see moving scenes such as people hugging openly in public. Slow motion will be used frequently in this section. Use of pan shots, and use of tracking to show we are following her on her journey.

1:38 Beat kicks in – Verse Two.

“God knows what is hiding in this world of little consequence,Behind the tears, inside the lies.a thousand slowly dying sunsets.”

1:51 “God knows what is hiding in those weak and drunken hearts,Guess the loneliness came knocking. No one needs to be alone, oh singin’”

2:05 Chorus.

“People help the people, and if you’re homesick, give me your hand and I’ll hold it.People help the people, and nothing will drag you down.oh and if I had a brain,oh and if I had a brain.I’d be as cold as a stone and rich as a foolthat turned all those good hearts away.”

2:43 Intro to instrumental.

2:49 Instrumental.

Carries on from the chorus as we start to see her wanting to help people. This is because we see her start to acknowledge the people as we see her looking at them. This is also presented from the cuts become more and more frequently so it appears desperate and as if something is going to happen. Cuts between these scenes, cuts of the surroundings e.g. the high-street, and the dancers dancing back on the pier. Still in black and white.

Main focus on one person sitting down, looking ill/cold. Everything is moving faster and blurring around them. They appears to get not help, no one is even looking at them. This makes it seem as if time is passing rapidly but yet no one helps them.On the last line it goes back to normal sped slowly, and we see the main singer come into shot, she walks up to the person and bends down so she is on their level, but it cuts to the next clip before we see her actually help.

We start to see the singer help people. The first is a busker. He is on the street playing the guitar but has nothing to collect the money in. the lead singer hands over her fat to the man who takes it willingly, as the hat is passed form hand to hand we start to see colour fade in. The next clip is back in black and white, we are now back to the person seen who appears to be homeless form the second half of the verse. It cuts straight back to where it cut out, the lead singing is bending down to their level and hands them a £20 note, again as the note is handed over the colour fades in. Finally, we see a younger girl who is shivering. The lead singing walks over to her and hands over her scarf. As she wraps it the little girls neck the colour fades in. This time the colour stays. To link all the characters together with the lead female, we plan to have an element of red on each of the characters e.g. the child gets given a red scarf, the homeless man has a red sleeping bag and the busker has a red jeans or shirt.

Fish eye camera, 3 different types of shots, a standing still tripod, close ups of the dancers and a circling shot. Contemporary dance. 2 dancers we saw earlier in video. Plan to film the dancers on a cloudy day, taking extra lights in case of darkness. They will be filmed on the pier. This will not feature the lead singer.

3:14 Second set of Vocal runs.

“nah naaah nah nah naaaaahhhhhh oooouuuu”

3:27 Chorus.

“People help the people, and if you’re homesick, give me your hand and I’ll hold it.People help the people, and nothing will drag you down.oh and if I had a brain,oh and if I had a brain.I’d be as cold as a stone and rich as a foolthat turned all those good hearts away.”

4:11 Song End

Walking down pavement out side hall place , through gates towards the field from the intro. Filmed with more sun in the shots to foreshadow the on coming joy that people will receive if they help people and to show her optimistic feelings.

She finds herself walking through a rose garden. Camera is tracking her and there is occasional close ups of her toughing the roses and odd parts of the scenery.

She walks on to the field. We see her sing into the camera for the first time in the video.

When the song ends, there is three chords in quick succession. For this, we plan to have the camera close up on her face on the first chord and on the following two chords, zoom out roughly five metres each time.
