Time Based Studies : I am interested in producing a project looking at Time Based Studies. I am going to research the work of many artists’ such as: Sam Javanrouh, Toby Keller, Sara Henrichs and Andrew Starwarz. I’m also going to look at You Tubers such as ‘The Slow Mo Guys’ and ‘Mystery Guitar Man’. I am inspired by their work because of the way they apply their skills in unconventional ways to make stunning and unique photo’s/video’s. Many of them took images of light graffiti and simple things using fast shutter speeds, which inspires me to experiment myself to discover what stunning images I might be able to create. I will be attempting to take photos of various explosions at a high shutter speed, and will be using open, outdoor locations for ease and better safety. I’ll be using a DSLR camera (Nikon D5100) to take these photos and will be processing them in colour. I will also be taking photographs of light graffiti and other such things using a slow shutter speed as an experimental attempt at what I have researched from other artists. Some of these will most likely be taken using the studio to achieve professional results. I will be experimenting with different apertures, shutter speeds; as well as different techniques using Photoshop to digitally enhance my images. By doing this I will make the bet out of my images in my attempt to present my study in a unique and individual way.

Time Based Studies :

I am interested in producing a project looking at Time Based Studies. I am going to research the work of many

artists’ such as: Sam Javanrouh, Toby Keller, Sara Henrichs and Andrew Starwarz. I’m also going to look at You Tubers

such as ‘The Slow Mo Guys’ and ‘Mystery Guitar Man’. I am inspired by their work because of the way they apply their skills in unconventional ways to make stunning and

unique photo’s/video’s. Many of them took images of light graffiti and simple things using fast shutter speeds, which

inspires me to experiment myself to discover what stunning images I might be able to create.

I will be attempting to take photos of various explosions at a high shutter speed, and will be using open, outdoor

locations for ease and better safety. I’ll be using a DSLR camera (Nikon D5100) to take these photos and will be

processing them in colour.

I will also be taking photographs of light graffiti and other such things using a slow shutter speed as an experimental

attempt at what I have researched from other artists. Some of these will most likely be taken using the studio to

achieve professional results.

I will be experimenting with different apertures, shutter speeds; as well as different techniques using Photoshop to digitally enhance my images. By doing this I will make the bet out of my images in my attempt to present my study

in a unique and individual way.

I will aim to produce five final images that best portray time-based studies in the perspective that I have been looking at it throughout the course and throughout my

investigation. Hopefully by the end I will have taken enough photographs that I can portray my study through

work that differs vastly in style and manner.
