Tim Tremblay Tightens Grip On Second In Pro Open Championship Aurora, Minn. (February 23, 2015) The AMSOIL Championship Snocross tour made it’s first-ever visit to Route 66 Raceway just outside of Chicago, Illinois where Tim Tremblay continued his podium streak with a second place finish on Friday night and just missed backing it up on Saturday. The purpose-built NHRA drag race facility at Route 66 is a crown jewel among racing complexes and made for a nearly perfect snocross stadium. Ample seating with great site lines, spacious pit lanes and corporate amenities, just down the road from the third largest market in the U.S., were a welcome addition to the ever-growing status of the national tour. It was a stellar weekend for Tremblay, who was the top qualifier on Friday with heat race finishes of 1-1. On Saturday he went 1-2 in his preliminary rounds and was in a solid second place position in that main event before one small bobble cost him another podium finish. Tremblay came off his sled at the end of the extremely technical front straight, an area in which had been the fastest rider on the track, heading into a ninety degree left-hander. Tremblay quickly remounted and raced back to fourth as the laps ran out. With his overall performance Tremblay retains second place in the standings as we hit the three-quarter mark to the season and begin the final drive to the championship. As a first-time event on the schedule, the stop in Joliet allowed us to reach a new market in our pre-race school visits for the U.S. Air Force. While at the Joliet Job Corps were we presented a Race to the Future Scholarship to a unique mix of students, many of whom had never been introduced to the sport of snowmobiling. This week the team will stay on the road as we travel to long-time sponsor International Engineering & Manufacturing, maker of Woody’s traction products, before moving on to Mt. Pleasant, Michigan for the Soaring Eagle National on February 27-28.
