Thank you to all the children who have found their summer
school hats this week. Well done. Our “No Hats no Play”
hard line is part of our Sun Safe policy and is in place to
protect our children throughout the warmer months. Please
help your child remember to wear their school hat, to
school, each day.
As the holidays finally arrive I hope that you have a restful
and safe break and enjoy just being with your children. I
also hope that the holidays will finally see the end of the
great number of colds and flus that have been around and
that attendance in term four will be exceptional for all
children. This is also a great time for all children to be
treated for head lice.
I also really want to thank my staff and all the children for
their extremely hard work this term, their great resilience
and flexibility in being able to step up to any challenge
and their total commitment to ensuring that children, their
learning and well-being comes first. Everyone has worked
very hard at achieving outcomes and overcoming
challenges.
Year 7 2021 Aspire class
Congratulations to the following Year 6 students who have
been successful in gaining entry to the Aspire program for
high achieving students at Callaghan College Waratah
Technology Campus next year.
Well done to Nashi, Millie T, Mia, Harry, Tama, Addison, Ivy,
Andreas, Orlando and Aidan.
We are so proud of you!
Dogs in School
Just a reminder that we don’t have or bring dogs into the
school at any time. This is regardless or size or breed. I
would also encourage you not to tie your dogs up at the
entry points to our school as students exiting or entering the
school have to pass close by them and this is a real issue for
those students with phobia and fears of dogs. Many thanks
for supporting the school with this issue.

PEANUTS/Anaphylactic reaction reminder
The number of children at Tighes Hill Public School with
allergies to different food products and substances is
growing. At this school we have students with severe (life
threatening) reactions to peanuts and all tree nuts enrolled.
To maximise the wellbeing and safety for all students,
parents are asked not to pack peanut butter sandwiches
or nut products for your children and to make sure that you
are vigilant in reading labels of all pre-packaged foods.
Please let’s work together to provide a safe environment
for all students.

Aerobics Superstars!
The 2020 Tighes Hill Public school aerobics team, The Sapphires, is made up of Giverny, Addison,
Tayla, Chalisah, Evie, Ava, Yesenia, Ella, Freya and Una. The team has been training since early
Term 1 despite some disruptions from COVID and have been looking forward to their first
competition together at the NSW State Championship to be held on the 26th September.
Unfortunately due to Covid restrictions, the comp has been changed to an online format. The
routine has been recorded and submitted for judging and we will view the live judging on the
26th. Fingers crossed for the Sapphires, we wish them all the best for their upcoming competition
judging and we will keep you posted on the results.
A big thank you to Mrs Lubans, our amazing aerobics coach, for all her amazing efforts with
training and organisation this year to support our team. Head to our school Facebook page to
watch the Sapphires perform.

COVID
Our COVID restrictions remain in place at this time. Parents can access the department's latest

Kindergarten Enrolments for 2021
To enable us to correctly estimate enrolments and staff the school appropriately for 2021, I need
all parents enrolling children K-6 to complete enrolment forms and leave their details at the
office. Please let me know of any neighbours and friends, who may not have children already at
this school but will have school age children for 2021 so we can then contact them and include
them on our numbers for next year.
Students only onsite
We wish to remind everyone that the advice about parents/carers remaining off site stays the
same. Our morning drop off/ afternoon pick-up procedures from last term will continue for the
foreseeable future. If you need to make contact with the office or your child’s teacher, please
do so by phone or email. Thank you for supporting us.
Tell Them From Me - Parent Survey
This term, our school will be participating in the Partners in Learning parent survey, another part
of the Tell Them From Me suite of surveys on student engagement. The survey asks parents and
carers questions about different factors that are known to impact on student wellbeing and
engagement.
Running this survey will help our school understand parents’ and carers’ perspectives on their
child’s experience at school. These include: communication between parents/carers and staff,
activities and practices at home and parent/carer views on the school's support of learning and
behaviour. This valuable feedback will help our school make practical improvements.
The survey is conducted entirely online on smartphones, iPads, tablets, laptops or computers. The
survey will typically take 15 minutes or less to complete and is completely confidential. The par-
ent survey is open now and can be completed by the end of term. Although participating in the
survey is entirely voluntary, your responses are very much appreciated.
To complete the survey, click on the link below or scan the QR code.
