2015 THREE-FOR-ONE MEMBERSHIP PROGRAM CONTINUES TO PRODUCE OUTSTANDING RESULTS!

As part of our 100 year celebration, the Board of Directors adopted and implemented the 2015 Three-for-One Membership Program. This new program was announced providing our members the opportunity to add one or two new members to their membership. For those of you interested in the opportunity to supplement your plan with a B or C member, there is still time to do so - it’s not too late! If you know any potential members who may be interested in joining TCC, please call our Membership Director, Jennifer Saul Campbell, at 330.759.4570, with their names and phone numbers and she will do all she can to sign them up as your B or C members. We understand that our members may not feel comfortable “selling the Club,” so we have Jennifer to provide that assistance! She is an expert and would be happy to handle “the sale” for you. If she is successful in getting your referral to commit to TCC, you will receive the credit and all the benefits of sharing a membership with B and C members!

For your convenience, below you will find an “at-a-glance” summary of the 2015 Three-for-One Membership Program. This summary is being provided in an effort to ensure that all of our members understand this exciting new program.

Golfer Highlights

Congratulations to Dr. Jim LaPolla, Jr. and his father, Dr. Jim LaPolla, Sr., who won the Fripp

Island Guest Invitational the weekend of May 1!

Jim, Sr. was the oldest participant and

oldest winner in the history of the

tournament. Keep up the good work!

Congratulations to Dominic Carano, son of new members, Ken and Christine Carano, for his

hole-in-one on #3 on May 7! Dominic is a

member of the YSU Golf Team. Way to go!

THROUGH THE GREENThe official start of the season is now behind us. The golf course, swimming pool and tennis courts are all in full swing! We have deep tined and lightly topdressed the greens. This deep tining is a way to reduce compaction and ammend the soil. We will continue to verti-cut and roll the greens to increase smoothness. Sand continues to be added to certain bunkers as needed.

As everything dries out, we will begin working on some much needed drainage projects throughout the course.

It is wonderful to see so many new faces at the Club this year!

A Magnificent Mother’s Day at the Club!

P R E S I D E N T ’ S M E S S A G E According to that world renowned expert, Dr. Oz, there are 7 signs of aging. While he claims that hairless feet or toes is one sign, I have no idea how that would apply to being a member at TCC. He also identifies “cotton mouth” as a telltale sign of getting old. And to think that for all these years, I thought “cotton mouth” was a sign that maybe I stayed too late at Patio Night.

The reason I’m talking about Dr. Oz is because I was recently at the Club and there were quite a few people out for a drink and/or dinner, and I couldn’t recall their names. I checked with Dr. Oz, to see if being forgetful was a sign, and was informed that, not surprisingly, it’s Sign No. 4. I was getting a little worried about my acuity, but then I read the results of our membership campaign. While we’ve lost about 45 members since we began the

campaign with our new pricing model, we have added quite a few really nice new members. When we started this adventure, our membership count was around 218. Even with the defections, we currently have in excess of 320 members. There are quite a few new faces, and that may explain my difficulty in remembering names. Perhaps I should not be so worried about Dr. Oz’s Rule No. 4, at least for the time being. If you also are feeling forgetful, the best cure would be to walk up to a new member and introduce yourself.

With all these new faces, the Club feels very much alive. The few Patio Nights we’ve had have been very successful, despite the fact that a couple of the weeks had some unseasonably cool evenings. The Tuesday Night Golf events have started for both men and women, and the result has been great, bringing people out to the Club on a traditionally not too busy night.

The pool is now open, and the influx of swimmers and sunbathers will certainly add to the excitement. Even if you’re one of those people with “hairless feet or toes”, don’t let that deter you from enjoying the pool area. (I knew I could find a way to work that in.) Our new tennis pro, Michael Fredericka, is excited to kick off the season and has all sorts of events planned. Mike Shulas, our new golf pro has done a great job organizing weekend events and quarterbacking the Tuesday Night Leagues.

These are fun times at the Club, so make sure you are part of the action.

See you at the Club!Kevin Murphy

EVENT CANCELLATION POLICYIn an effort to ensure our members and guests enjoy the ultimate Club experience, advance planning is critical. All of our Club events are highly customized, with distinctive menus, themed décor and lively entertainment.

While we certainly understand circumstances do arise and plans change, the Club and AVI suffer when resources are expended preparing for members who make a reservation for an event, but do not attend. The event cancellation policy is detailed below.

• If an event reservation is canceled three days prior to the event, there will be no charge for the event. • If an event reservation is canceled two days prior to the event, there will be a 50% charge for the event. • If an event reservation is canceled within 24 hours of the event, or if you fail to attend, you will be charged the full amount for the event. We strongly encourage members to make reservations for all Club events to ensure the best possible experience, but we also appreciate a courtesy call should your plans change. Your continued enthusiasm and participation in all TCC events is greatly appreciated!
