Nearly 800 staff from the Group’s functional departments, portfolio companies, and investment and finance teams attended the conference. Meanwhile, directors and division heads of the Group attended and gave speeches at the event. In 2015, the Group proposed the value proposition of providing the middle class with integrated solutions in three main areas of wealth, health, and happiness, and further clarified the objective of creating a CIPC ecosystem. In 2016, how to continue to carry out the insurance + investment strategy, adhere to value investment and industrial integration, and take investment projects as the starting point? How to further deepen insurance- oriented comprehensive financing as a core focus, with additional attention given to industrial layout for healthcare, happiness, senior living, real estate, and commodities? How to push forward FosunLink’s O2O construction, accelerate the process of globalization, and achieve sustainable and high-speed growth? How can we achieve all of these? At the conference, directors and division heads gave summaries and outlooks, clarifying the Group's goals and measures for the work of 2016. China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) have jointly appointed Mr. Liang Xinjun to serve as the Chinese designated representative to the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Business Advisory Council (ABAC). Yu Ping, CCPIT Vice Chairman, hopes that Fosun can represent the voice of China’s business community on the ABAC platform, participating in the development of Asia-Pacific trading policies, and serve as a model for Chinese entrepreneurs. In receiving the appointment, Liang Xinjun made a statement, noting, “I would like to express my gratitude to the MFA and CCPIT for their confidence in Fosun and in myself. Under the guidance of MFA and CCPIT, I will make every effort and conscientiously to fulfill my duties as a representative. I will proactively in participating in events under the APEC framework, sharing my experiences in globalization and offering suggestions and advice to the ABAC.” The APEC Business Advisory Council is a permanent institution of APEC. Its predecessor was the Pacific Business Forum first proposed and established in 1993 at an APEC informal leadership meeting. At the third APEC informal leadership meeting held in Osaka, Japan in November 1995, participating members moved to establish a permanent body to represent the business community that would succeed the relatively loose forum. The APEC Business Advisory Council was thereby established. The APEC Business Advisory Council’s former Chinese representatives or designated representatives include COFCO Chairman Frank Ning, China Construction Bank Chairman Wang Hongzhang, former ICBC Vice President Wang Lili, and Alibaba founder Jack Ma.
