“Thriving in a Changing World”
Matthew 7:12-29 Randy Watson 2/5/17
Thriving through Practical Teaching
… Just imagine if you had bullet-proof faith.
Practical Biblical Teaching
More than bible knowledge, this is Biblical teaching that equips you
to apply God’s word to your life.
Matthew 7:12 - A summary of the bible: It’s about DOING!
Matthew 7:13-14 - The ACTIONS you live out in your life
evidences your faith.
Matthew 7:15-20 - What you believe is important! What you DO
with your belief by your behavior is REALLY important!
James 1:22 - It is by living out the word that your Faith grows.
Matthew 7:21-23 -
Matthew 7:24-27
Obedience is what makes the difference here.
Our mission statement is:
We are learning to Love God and Love Others.
Gateway is a Christ-centered biblically based church. The more
you understand and apply God’s word the more you will be a
Christ-centered biblically based disciple.
God’s word is a catalyst for personal action Luke 4:14-30
Matthew 7:28-29
Where did Jesus get his authority?
1) Jesus had a position of authority
2) Jesus personified his teaching.
When our acts of faith intersect with God’s faithfulness, our faith
grows. Obedience to God’s word is what makes a difference.
“Unapplied truth is like unapplied paint. It doesn’t do anybody any
good. The value of paint is in the application.” Pastor Lane Jones
