THORO STRUCTURITE LEVEL A one component levelling and repair mortar

Description of product THORO STRUCTURITE LEVEL is a blend of Portland cement, selected graded fine aggregates, modifying agents and redispersible polymers. When mixed with water it forms a trowelable or spayable mortar which dries to a concrete grey colour. Uses To produce a fair-face finish to new concrete or as part of a concrete repair system. Applied in 2 - 10 mm deep layers to fill all surface blowholes, cracks and irregularities whilst providing an ideal surface for protective coatings. THORO STRUCTURITE LEVEL meets the requirements of a class R2 mortar according EN1504-3 Benefits Durable - High bond strength. - Weather-proof. - Vapour permeable. - For interior and exterior use, above and below

ground level. - Freeze thaw resistant. Cost effective - No separate special primer or bonding coat required. - Easy to trowel. - Can be spray applied. Easy to apply - Single component, only water to be added. - To be applied on a damp substrate. - Equipment to be cleaned simply with water. - Edge repair up to 10 mm - Self curing: no curing compounds or wet curing

needed

Environmentally friendly - Cement based. - Low chromate content. Cr VI < 2 ppm on cement

Colours Standard: grey. Coverage Each m2 requires 1,8 kg powder for a 1 mm thickness. Packaging 25 kg sack. Storage THORO STRUCTURITE LEVEL should be stored under cover and clear of the ground. Protect the materials from all sources of moisture and frost (+5°C). Rotate stock in order not to exceed the shelf life of 12 months. Application Substrate quality New concrete should be cured for a minimum of 14 days. Substrate preparation The surface to be coated must be clean and sound. Remove all traces of formwork, release agents, previous coatings, laitance and any contaminants that may affect the bond adversely. Suitable cleaning methods include high-pressure water treatment and grit blasting. NOT recommended are aggressive percussive methods. After the above treatment, surfaces must be thoroughly rinsed with clean water to remove all dust and loose particles. All holes, cracks and deteriorated concrete (> 10 mm) should be repaired with a THORO STRUCTURITE repair mortar. Mixing Wet density ± 2.05 kg/dm³ Pot life > 45 minutes Final setting time ±230 minutes Mixing liquid ± 3,75 liters (3,4 – 4,1) clean water / 25 kg powder Blend 25 kg of powder into approximately 3,75 liters of liquid whilst stirring with a suitable paddle mixer attachment in a slow speed drill (400 – 600 rpm) for 2 minutes. DO NOT add more water but leave to stand for 3 minutes to allow full re-dispersion of the polymer. Re-mix, adding powder or water (if required) to obtain a cohesive, creamy and lump-free consistency. The quantity may vary slightly depending upon the ambient conditions. DO NOT exceed the maximum water demand. DO NOT OVERMIX.

Application Do not apply THORO STRUCTURITE LEVEL to frozen substrates or if the ambient temperature is below 5ºC or expected to fall below 5ºC within 24 hours. Avoid application in direct sunlight. Thoroughly dampen the substrate and remove any free standing water before application. By trowel Apply a thin scratch coat using firm pressure to force the material into the substrate. Immediately follow on with a trowel coat to give an overall thickness of 2 – 10 mm. By spray THORO STRUCTURITE LEVEL can be applied using hopper-type spray or mortar pump/spray equipment. Typically the mixed mortar will be sprayed through a round 6-8 mm nozzle using an air pressure of approximately 3 bar. Spray with the nozzle at 90º (right angles) to the surface, whilst maintaining a constant distance. Build-up in uniform layers; do not exceed 10 mm. If trowelling to a finish, allow the THORO STRUCTURITE LEVEL to stiffen sufficiently before floating. Do not over-trowel. The time between application and finishing will vary dependent upon substrate absorption and ambient drying conditions. Curing Protect the freshly applied material from drying too fast e.g. under hot and windy conditions. In cool conditions, cover with insulated tarpaulin, polystyrene or other insulating material. Protect from rain until setting is complete. The use of a curing compound or wet curing is not advised. THOROLASTIC or THOROSHEEN can be applied after approx. 1 day. Clean up and spillages Not hardened material may simply be removed with water.

Health and safety THORO STRUCTURITE LEVEL is based on cement and can be irritating to the skin and eyes. Gloves and eye protection should be worn. The use of dust masks is recommended. Accidental splashes of the material to the skin or eyes should be immediately washed off with clean water. In the event of prolonged irritation seek medical advice. In the case of ingestion give water or milk to drink and treat symptomatically. Medical advice should be sought. A Material Safety Data Sheet for this product is available on request.
