The Ultimate Makeover
Step Five – Mercy
Matthew 5:7
A. Mercy abounds in God! (Ephesians 2:4-5; Titus 3:4-7)
The forgiveness and new life we enjoy are due to the mercy of God.
God’s inexhaustible supply of mercy and grace make 70 times 7 living possible.
B. Our mercy is to look like God’s mercy. (Luke 6:36; Matthew 9:12-13)
Jesus’ challenge is for each of us to be as merciful as our Heavenly Father is merciful. (Luke 6:36)
Our mercy, forgiveness, acceptance, patience and forbearance are to look like Jesus. Jesus is our standard!
C. The only way to receive God’s mercy is to show it to others! (Matthew 5:7; 6:12, 14-15; Colossians 3:12-13)
When we fail to forgive others, we are the big loser.
God wants us to live large and never settle for mediocrity.
The ultimate makeover is not a mild attempt at seeing our lives altered. God desires to do something radically different in our lives!
DEVOTIONS: We have been talking about devotions on
Wednesday nights and I would love to put a devotion and/or
Bible in all the kids’ hands. You’ll find samples of devotions
outside the preschool wing. If you find one for your child, sign
the list, put money in envelope in Penny’s door, and we will
get them ordered. Don’t see one your child would like? Please
see Penny and we will find one for your child. TODAY IS THE LAST DAY!
CENTRIKID: CentriKid is a camp for children who have completed
3rd-5th grades. Location: Campbellsville, KY. Dates: June 15-
19, 2020. $60 Deposit due February 9th.
2020 RELEASE FORMS: Pick up a form in Preschool Wing and fill out
for each of your children in K-5th Grades to be able to
participate in activities/trips.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT PALOOZA: Fun-filled theme nights that
incorporate Bible stories and lessons. Ages 2-PreK will meet in
Room 108 in Preschool Wing and K-5th graders in e-worship
room. 6:30-7:30 p.m. February 5th: Stinky Days!
e-WORSHIP: (Elementary Worship) K-5th graders will be dismissed
prior to the sermon. Parents pick up your child(ren) in the e-
worship room at the back of the gym following the service.
Current Series: Ingredients of a Godly Life-A Spoonful of
Confidence.
AWANA: NO AWANA tonight. Join the church at the “Supper”
Bowl party.
SAVE THE DATE: VBS will be July 12-16, 2020.
February 2nd: Church wide “Supper” Bowl Party
February 16th: Bowling social meet at church at 4:15 p.m. to
travel together. Students will need $10-$15 for shoe rentals
and game. Pizza will be provided. Permission/health forms
must be on file. Mark your calendars:
Crossings June 6th—10th. More information to come.

An infant cry room is located just off the church foyer, through the doors
at the rear of the sanctuary.

Please note: Due to the large number of prayer requests, the
Weekly Prayer List is now available at the Welcome Area on a
page that will conveniently fit into your Bible. They are also
available in the Sunday School rooms.

Hours: Sunday mornings: 9:00 -10:30 a.m.

Infants-PreK: Childcare and classes are available in the preschool wing
during church services. The preschool wing is through the front doors, at
the left of the sanctuary.
Restrooms are located through the doors at the rear of the sanctuary or
around the corner from the church office when exiting the front
sanctuary doors.
Deacon on-site: There is a Deacon keeping office hours on Mondays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Stop by if you would like to talk to him during this time.

Pray for the Pastor Search Committee that they would have the mind
of Christ and be in complete unity. 1Corinthians 1:10
I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, [a] in the name of our Lord Jesus
Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and
that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly
united in mind and thought.
Guatemala Mission: We are collecting shoes new or gently used. The sizes and gender needed are on the mission bulletin board in the hallway. Feel free to take a paper shoe down, buy the size/gender and drop them off in the shoe bin in the work room!
Pantry: We will continue to take donations for the food pantry & library pantry. Donations can be dropped off in the workroom, bin is labeled.
WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY: A Study of 1 & 2 Kings. Trustworthy,
overcoming our greatest struggles to trust God. Two times available:
Wednesday nights beginning February 5 @ 6:30 p.m. in room 12
facilitated by Meg Norsworthy. Friday mornings beginning February
7 @ 10 a.m. in room 12 facilitated by JoBeth Ticknor.

Women’s Ministry:
Will be meeting February 9th at 6:00.p.m. in Room 12. The guest
speaker will be Donna Herndon from the Murray Calloway County
Homeless Coalition. All women are invited to attend and learn
more about homelessness in Murray.
We will be serving at the Community Kitchen on February 23rd.
Sewing Ministry: We would love to have you join the Sewing Ministry. We meet Wednesday nights at 6:00 p.m. in room 24. Our next project is baby quilts for Life House.
The church will provide the chicken wings, dip, hot dogs and drinks as well as the cups, plates, napkins, etc. Attendees are invited to bring their favorite finger food and appetizers as well as board games, playing cards, etc. Also, please bring a card table if you have one. Door prizes for all attendees!
