THIS WEEK…... WOW

A big thanks to all the staff who since last term have made it possible for the school to operate

efficiently and support the online learning of our students. It has been fantastic to see the stu-

dents in the their Video classrooms on TEAMS. Thank you all the parents and carers for your

work!

I hope that you all enjoyed Carinya’s first video assembly on TEAMS. Thank you Ryan for the

hours you put into creating the virtual assembly …. We look forward to the ongoing celebration

of our students’ success.

Thank you very much to everyone who has been sending in their selfies and self portraits for

Self Portrait competition. Please keep on sending those to you teacher. There have been some

amazing portraits of Zach, Nino and Ruben to name a few. We will start uploading them shortly.

Congratulations Miss Pip for the brilliant video lesson on making scrambled eggs. We have had

some students send in their own videos of how they made their eggs at home……. We hope it

was fun, tasty and not too messy for you at home!

WEEK 3—Phase 1 (Week 3 and 4)

Week 3 marks the commencement of Phase One of the staged return of all students in NSW to

their class for one day a week.

During Phase One your child’s class will be open so that they can attend one day a week with

their teacher and half of their class. Your teacher will have advised you as to which day your

child has been rostered to attend their class. Students will be provided with online learning mate-

rials for week 3 and teachers will continue to support students online and in class.

To help us maintain distance and hygiene at Carinya, only 25% of students will be onsite at any-

one time. Your child’s class will be open for face to face support for 2 days a week. The class will

be at 50% capacity so that we can maintain a hygienic learning environment for staff and stu-

dents.

WELCOME BACK TO YOUR CLASS ….

So what will coming back to class look like ?

You will be with your teacher and learning support officer .

On the day that you are at school, only half your class will be in the classroom.

If you are not at school you will be able to see your classmates when the video class is opened

each day.

Teachers will help you complete your online work when you come to class.

You will use the playground at recess and lunch.

CLEANING– the school is cleaned regularly and we will keep it clean.

You will have to wash your hands when you go into or leave any classroom, This makes sure that

we are all clean and safe from passing on germs to each other.

TAXI -School Taxis are cleaned regularly and sanitized so that you can travel on them.

To keep everyone clean and safe you should wash your

hands before you get on the taxi.

TEMPERATURE CHECK – when you arrive at school we will check your temperature to

make sure that you are well. If your temp is Ok you will go to class. If you have a fever or you

are sick we will call your carers to look after you.

HAND CLEANING -We will help you to clean your hands when you get off the taxi.

You will need to clean your hands when you go into a classroom and when you leave the class-

room…. This stops the spread of germs

You will need to sanitize your hands when you get on the taxi at the end of the day. Teachers will

help you.

POINTS—you will be receiving points each day for being SAFE being KIND and trying your

BEST. When you are at school you will be able to choose the TERM 2 reqward you will be working

towards.
