Wed like to meet you and we have a special gift for you. Nursery (Age 0 to 35 months) is available during the services. Our nursery is located in the Lobby to the left of the Worship Center. Sunday School (Age 3 years through 6th grade) Parents! Check your child into Sunday School at the Express Check-in (located in front of the Nursery) between 8:10-8:30 a.m. and 9:30-9:55 a.m. During both services, children will be dismissed to Sunday School and their teachers will walk them to class. You may pick them up in their classrooms after the service. Restrooms with diaper changing stations are located in the lobby, across from the nursery. Exiting from the Sanctuary, turn left; exiting the Worship Center, turn right. Need information? Try the Information Center in the Lobby between worship services. Its a great place to get information or find out about current activities. In the back of the chairs you will find PRAYER Cards for your prayer requests and CONNECT Cards (one per family) to register your worship attendance and note any contact information changes, including new e-mail addresses. Prayer Cards will be collected by the ushers early in the service. If you would like more information on our ministries, fill out a NEXT STEPS Card. If this is your first time at St. John’s, we invite you to come to the Information Center in the Worship Center Lobby between services. We’d like to meet you and we have a special gift for you.

St. John’s Board of Directors We are seeking nominations for the election of three members to serve on the

Board of Directors. Nominees should be voting members in good standing who also display spiritual wisdom and discernment. Congregational members may submit names of possible candidates to the church office or to the Chair, Bill Elliott. The election will be at the Congregational Meeting on December 8.

St. John’s SCRIP You can purchase SCRIP at the school office during the week or at the Information Center between services

only on Sunday. SCRIP is face value gift cards. You can purchase SCRIP as gift cards from local and national retailers and restaurants. Why use SCRIP? It is easy and a percentage of every purchase of SCRIP comes back to support our School and Children’s Center.

Reformation Sunday is October 27 and is an important day that allows Protestants to not only reflect on the history of their religion, but also one

that is important in honoring the core belief system of Protestantism. Remember to wear red in celebration.

Tanzania Student Sponsors Needed October is the month St. John’s designates for recruiting sponsors for

children to attend Angaza Lutheran School in Usa River, Tanzania. For the 2019 school year, the people of St. John’s sponsored 266 children ranging from three-year-olds (preschool) through Class 6. For the 2020 school year, which starts in January, we would love to increase our sponsorship by another 40 children since they will add Grade 7. Please take some time to prayerfully consider this outreach ministry through Lutheran education in Africa. Please stop by the Tanzania table in the courtyard after each service or contact Patrice at [email protected] for more information.

Lutheran Early Response Team (L.E.R.T.) Training L.E.R.T training is scheduled for Saturday, October 26, 9:00 a.m. to

Sunday Morning Adult Bible Study The Sunday morning Bible Study resumes today studying the Small
