Pos. Code Administrative/Support Services 7250 Administrative Assistant: Provides a wide variety of administrative and staff support services to an organizational unit.

May assist in budget preparation and control activities. May assist in the preparation and control of records, statistics, and reports regarding operations, personnel changes, etc. Administers programs, projects, and/or processes specific to the operating unit served. May serve as administrative liaison with others within and outside the company regarding administrative issues related to purchasing, personnel, facilities and operations. May screen and interview job applicants and orient new employees. NOTE: This is not a secretarial position.

6388 Driver: Operates passenger vehicle/van in accordance with established safety procedures. Transports passengers and/or cargo to and from specified destinations. May load, secure and unload cargo. Maintains radio or telephone contact with supervisor or dispatcher to receive delivery or pickup instructions. Ensures vehicle's road worthiness. Notifies supervisor of current or anticipated repair needs. Performs minor emergency road service.

2460 Executive Secretary: Performs standard, advanced and confidential secretarial duties requiring broad experience, skill and knowledge of organization policies and practices. Prepares correspondence, memoranda, reports, etc. Composes routine correspondence and memoranda. Screens telephone calls and visitors, and resolves routine and some complex inquiries. Schedules and maintains calendar of appointments, meetings and travel itineraries, and coordinates related arrangements. Prepares and distributes minutes of meetings. 2120 File Clerk: Maintains correspondence, cards, invoices, and other classified or indexed records arranged systematically in a file according to an established system. Inserts and removes material upon request and notes its disposition. Performs related routine clerical duties. May search and investigate information contained in files. In addition, may insert additional data, prepare reports, and provide written information on request.

8568 Grants Writer: Writes and submits pre and post award documents and applications related to grants, research funding applications, programs, projects, contracts, awards, and clinical trials. Submits proposals to government agencies, foundations, philanthropic organizations and other grant awarding bodies for award consideration and approval. May consolidate sources of information to ensure application document requirements are complete.

2330 Mail Clerk: Prepares incoming mail for distribution, and processes outgoing mail. Distributes and collects mail, determines and affixes postage. Maintains records on postage, registered mail and packages.

2135 Mail Room Supervisor: Supervises a staff of employees engaged in receiving, sorting, and delivering mail/messages, and preparing outgoing mail/packages.

8547 Medical Assistant: Assists physicians in all exams and minor office procedures; maintaining supply inventory in exam rooms; cleaning and sterilizing equipment; ordering and unpacking all supplies; giving injections and drawing blood.

8597 Medical Secretary: Provides administrative support utilizing knowledge of medical terminology and procedures in a hospital, clinic or laboratory environment. Takes dictation, transcribes documents, compiles information for recording purposes and prepares reports. Screens and directs telephone calls, schedules appointments and greets visitors. 8553 Medical Staff Coordinator: Coordinates administrative support services for medical staff and medical staff officers. Coordinates processing of applications and appointments of medical staff and allied health professionals. Oversees orientation of new medical staff members to hospital protocols and services. Coordinates communication of information between medical staff departments and administration. Oversees billing, collection and deposit of medical staff dues, including maintenance of related accounting records.

2340 Messenger: Delivers and picks up documents, mail, messages, packages and other items as directed to and/or from business establishments and/or private homes. Travels by foot, bicycle, motorcycle, automobile or public transportation. Maintains a log of items picked up and delivered.

2555 Switchboard Operator: Answers multiple incoming telephone lines. Obtains necessary information and transfers calls to correct individual extensions. Provides information to callers as appropriate.

8660 Unit Secretary: Prepares, compiles and maintains patient and operational records in the nursing unit. Performs general secretarial and clerical duties.

2690 Word Processing Operator: Operates a personal computer and appropriate software packages or its equivalent to prepare standard and/or complex documents from various sources of written or dictated input which may include page layouts and difficult charts. Enters corrections and revisions, and proofreads material for accuracy and completeness. Applies knowledge of department terminology and organization practices.

Clinical Research 8759 Biostatistician: Develops and analyzes a variety of research data using statistical methods. Helps researchers develop

appropriate study protocols and computer analyses, and draws conclusions from research data. Advises on research questionnaires, data gathering techniques, and data reduction to decrease bias or error in data.

2518 Research Project Coordinator: Collects and manages patient and laboratory data for clinical research projects. Screens and oversees the recruitment of subjects, supervises the scheduling of experiments and the collection, processing and analysis of data. Collects specimens and monitors subjects. Assists in the reporting of test results.

2511 Research Assistant: Works in basic science lab, involved in research; operates lab equipment, performs experimental procedures, collects and summarizes research data. Skills required include tissue culture, enzyme assays, gel electrophoresis, chromatography, DNA preps, etc. Documents procedural steps and data in approved scientific manner. Bachelor's in a basic science or equivalent experience.

2524 Research Technician: Provides responsible technical assistance in support of a research project by completing assignments requiring a basic knowledge of fundamental techniques and practices related to a particular academic or scientific field. Works under minimal supervision. Requires a Bachelors degree in a science or equivalent work experience.

Dietary Services 2170 Cook: Reviews menus, work orders or customer orders to determine type and quantities of food to be prepared. Prepares,

seasons and cooks food. Carves portions of meat, fish or fowl for individual servings. May plan menus and estimate required food quantities, labor and overhead costs. May lead the work of kitchen assistants in preparing, cooking and storing food, and in maintaining kitchen and storage facilities in sanitary condition.

8685 Food Service Supervisor: Supervises and coordinates activities of kitchen workers who prepare and cook foods for patients, staff, and visitors.

2148 Food Service Worker: Performs routine duties related to preparation and serving of food. Prepares food for cooking by washing, peeling, shredding, slicing and mixing various food items. Operates dishwasher or assists with washing/sterilizing dishes, glassware, silverware, utensils, pots, pans, etc. Cleans kitchen work area, collects and disposes of garbage. May assist with light cooking and/or stocking food inventory items.

Environmental Services and Engineering 8787 Biomedical Engineering Technician: Repairs, assembles and maintains all types of medical equipment. Assists

medical/nursing staff in operation/use of equipment. Tests the functionality of medical equipment making necessary operational adjustments. Takes sensitivity, selectivity, and accuracy measurements.

3685 Clinical Facilities Planner: Provides professional services on assigned projects for the design, development, construction, alteration or installation of health care facilities, buildings and equipment. Develops feasibility studies and initial cost and time estimates for review. Monitors construction progress, ensuring that costs, timing and contract requirements are followed. Coordinates with departments to review design changes, equipment specifications/substitutions, purchasing and accounting procedures. Oversees construction, equipment installation, renovation and redesign projects. Investigates and resolves problems arising from construction or changes in existing buildings.

8721 Environmental Services Aide: Performs a variety of general cleaning tasks to maintain patient rooms, offices, hallways and other assigned areas. Operates mechanical floor cleaners, polishers and vacuums. Moves furniture and other heavy objects as required. Performs terminal cleaning procedures of patient rooms and prepares rooms for new occupant following isolation procedures as appropriate.

8720 Environmental Services Supervisor: Supervises the work of cleaning personnel. Prepares work schedules, inspects premises to determine work assignments and trains, observes and directs work crews in the satisfactory completion of their tasks. Maintains inventory of cleaning materials, supplies and equipment.

5960 General Maintenance Repair Worker: Performs routine maintenance service or repairs in two or more skill areas, including plumbing, carpentry, painting and plastering, machine servicing, electrical repairs or installations, or vehicle servicing. Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures. May estimate time and material costs of various projects. Requisitions new supplies and equipment as needed.

5820 Groundskeeper: Cuts grass, repairs damaged lawns, and prunes trees and shrubs. Lays out and tends flower beds or other decorative vegetation. Removes snow and ice from walks and driveways. Maintains driveways and parking lots. Performs routine cleaning and maintenance on gardening and grounds equipment. Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.

6131 Hazardous Materials Handler: Remove, package, transport, and dispose of various hazardous materials, e.g., medical supplies, solvents, radiographic, radioactive and nuclear materials in accordance with safety standards and governmental regulations. May require special training and/or certification.

5955 HVAC (Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning) Mechanic: Installs, maintains, and repairs heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems. Monitors HVAC systems and operations, and ensures that routine preventive maintenance is performed according to established schedules. Checks, repairs and/or replaces valves, motors, controls, switches, gauges, wiring, fans, pumps, compressors, condensers, cores, pipes and other functional components of the system. Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Holds appropriate licenses as may be required by law.

8740 Linen Room Attendant: Ensures the delivery of clean linen, uniforms, scrubs and linen packs to the patient/nursing units. Sorts, assembles and wraps linen packs and restocks as needed. Logs linen usage and responds to all requests for clean linen.

5920 Maintenance Electrician: Repairs, installs, replaces and tests electrical circuits, equipment, and appliances. Uses hand tools and testing instruments. Inspects and tests electrical equipment, lighting, signal, communication, and power circuits. Isolates defects in wiring, switches, motors and other electrical equipment using testing instruments such as ammeter, ohmmeter, voltmeter, testing lamp, or growler. Replaces faulty switches, sockets, and other elements of electrical systems. Dismantles electrical machinery and replaces defective electrical or mechanical parts such as gears, brushes, and armatures. Mounts motors, transformers and lighting fixtures into position and completes circuits according to diagram specifications. Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures. 2370 Maintenance Supervisor: Supervises personnel responsible for the functioning or fixing of equipment by preventative maintenance and inspection. Prioritizes work orders; plans, schedules, coordinates and assigns work. Plans and organizes the purchase of all necessary materials, parts and components required for work orders. Ensures compliance with OSHA, state standards and organization policy. Responsible for safety and training of maintenance staff.

6220 Power House/Boiler House Supervisor: Supervises the operation and maintenance of stationary engines and mechanical equipment such as steam engines, air compressors, generators, motors, turbines, pumps, and ventilating and refrigeration equipment. Supervises adjustments and minor repairs necessary to ensure efficient performance. Supervises employees who tend boilers supplying steam for heating, processing or power generation, ensure the maintenance of specified pressures and temperatures, and make minor repairs.

Finance 0300 Accountant: Prepares income and balance sheet statements, consolidated statements, and various other accounting

statements and reports. Analyzes financial reports and records, making recommendations relative to the accounting of reserves, assets, and expenditures. Reviews and verifies the accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications assigned to various records. Conducts special studies and develops or recommends accounting methods and procedures. Instructs or assigns work to bookkeepers and accounting clerks engaged in general accounting activities. Coordinates accounting matters with other departments, locations and divisions. Utilizes computer to input, retrieve or display accounting information.

8595 Health Information Research Coordinator: Coordinates research requests to provide access to necessary medical records for completion of short- and long-term research projects. Coordinates work flow and monitors researchers' eligibility for access to hospital medical records.

8593 Health Information Supervisor: Supervises and participates in the daily workflow of the Health Information Management Department. Responsible for the management of health information systems consistent with the medical, administrative, ethical and legal requirements of the health care delivery system. Oversees the maintenance of medical records and the coding of data from medical records. Participates in the preparation of reports. Provides information and prepares correspondence regarding patient admissions, treatment, discharges, and burials in accordance with departmental policies and legal requirements governing the release of medical information.

8599 Medical Transcription Supervisor: Schedules, assigns, and supervises the work of the transcription area of the Health Information Management Department. Supervises daily activities of the department to optimize productivity. May perform duties of a Transcriptionist as work flow dictates.

8608 Tumor Registrar: Identifies, registers and maintains records of all cancer patients by utilizing tumor registry data system. Analyzes registry data and disseminates information in accordance with professional ethics. Preserves confidentiality and security of patient data stored in tumor registry files.

Human Resources 1050 Compensation Analyst: Studies and analyzes wage or salaried jobs and prepares position descriptions in standardized form.

Evaluates jobs using established evaluation systems, determines grades and prepares records on the validity of the evaluations. Serves on job evaluation committees.
