What is document attachment?
OTM allows users to attach documents to certain business objects.
A document can only be owned by a single business object. A business object can own many documents.

The following property files should be changed: • glog.document.safe.extensions - This indicates files which do not need virus
checking regardless of the trustworthiness of the document user. – Our setting: txt, html, pdf, doc, docx, jpeg, bmp, xls, xlsx
• glog.document.safe.mimeTypes - This indicates file types which do not need
virus checking regardless of the trustworthiness of the document user. – Our setting:
text/plain, text/html, text/xml, application/pdf, application/msword, image/jpeg, image/pjpeg, Image/bmp, application/vnd.ms-excel

The Document Use Profile defines upload security for users Go to – Business Process Automation > Power Data > Document Generation >

checkbox 4. Maximum Upload: 4194304 bytes Note: this is the equivalent of 4MB
The Document attachment Maximum upload has been set to 4194304 bytes. This is the equivalent of 4 MB.

If the user attempts to upload a file that is larger than 4 MB, the following error will be received:
The Document Use Profile must be attached to the User ID Go to – Configuration and Administration > User Management > User Manager Populate the Document Use Profile

The user will upload documents as follows: Go to – Business Process Automation > Document Manager Click “New” ID: Unique alphanumeric value to define the name of the document created Owner Type: Select a value from the drop down list based on whether you will
be attaching the document to a shipment or invoice or order release ID etc. Storage: Choose “Binary” Click “Upload”

The document attachments are attached to objects as follows: Go to – Shipment Management > Shipment Management > Buy Shipments Search for Shipment ID, select Shipment, and perform Action of Business
Process Automation > Documents > Attach Documents Search for the Document and click “Attach”

• The end-users made a request to display an image on the shipment display results screen to show a user that a document is attached to the shipment object. In order to configure OTM to satisfy this request, the following steps must be completed:
1. Load image onto server 2. Create Image path in OTM 3. Create agent to attach image to shipment (or other object such as Invoice,
Order Release, etc.) 4. Create custom screen set to display image (or edit existing screen set) 5. Attach screen set to user menu 6. View results on screen

• The System Administrator will need to load the image onto the server as follows:

• The Image path defines the location of the image on the server. • Go to: Configuration and Administration > Power Data > General > Images
Note: The path must point to a network server or URL and cannot be a local
machine.

• Size Limitation - While we were on Version 6.1.2, the Document Attachment size limitation was being ignored.
An SR was logged for this issue, which was fixed in 6.1.8. The Quick Patch that was installed (Quick Patch 16347188) was created from
the following Bug: Bug 16754514 - LIMIT ATTACHMENT SIZE NOT WORKING IN 6.1 • Limiting Visibility – On version 6.1.2, the Access Control List functionality to
prevent users from viewing Document Attachments is not working. This is a known Bug that is fixed in 6.3: Bug 14588431 - DOCUMENT - VIEW CONTENT ICON NOT WORKING.
