Natalie Ruecroft and Ryan Johnson – Natalie and Ryan have shown great innovation as they have worked together on developing a new line of business for the Conference & Events office. Katie Harrington and Alex Santos – Throughout the months of August and September, Alex and Katie have dealt with numerous requests to meet tight deadlines for GFAL print requirements on various projects.

Their dedication to help the Business meet deadlines has meant that they themselves have had to turn work around extremely quickly and efficiently, over and above what would normally be expected, something that any external providers would not have been able to do.

Matt Hamnett – Matt is an invaluable member of the sales team and he has input into pretty much every project the Conference Office works on. His digital marketing promotes everything they do meaning he has a very heavy workload and probably is one of the busiest members of the team; nothing is ever too much trouble for him and he is always willing to take on new tasks. Matt was extremely helpful and supportive whilst they worked on the Devonshire Hall wedding fayre project. This was a very demanding project that Matt worked on daily whilst also managing his additional workload.

Matt is extremely approachable when asking his assistance and always produces high standards of work on any task given

Mike Walker – Recently there have been a number of events which have involved a member of the sales team having to work late evenings or sacrifice their weekends.

Mike on a number of occasions has happily offered to be the individual to work these hours or support events such as Open Days and especially the recent Sky Ride event. He has done this without complaint on top of an already very full week. The way he managed the Sports Team’s involvement with the Sky Ride event was fantastic and he really mucked in and helped with moving heaving equipment around campus, setting up and dismantling the pop up ‘sports stall’, managing the staff on the day and getting stuck in and interacting with families and individuals making enquiries.

WINNER!

Mike Walker

Joe Kane and Kevin Lowther – On the weekend of the August Bank Holiday there was a mechanical failure in the pool plant room causing a flood. Due to and following on from this there was an increasing loss of water to the facilities and hot water was failing. Both Joe and Kevin worked to solve the problem, including speaking to the Assistant Operations Manager and arranging via security for emergency plumbers to attend to try and solve the problem.

Both maintained a positive and calm attitude in the face of a stressful time, working around the issues to maintain as much functionality for customers as possible. Good updates and information sharing was carried out between themselves, the staff on shift and the other duty managers who were following on from them as the week progressed. As a result our customers suffered only minimal disruption and the other members of the campus leadership team were able to pick up the on-going issues and continue with much less hassle.

Michael Hern – Michael has worked very closely with the Conference Team this summer to help deliver a number of challenging and complex events. He always works well with organisers, whether internal or external and is happy to help solve any problems as they occur.

Michael has provided a number of quotes for work over the summer and has always been patient and supportive as the demands of the clients have changed.

Highly Commended
