    1 INTRODUCTION & PURPOSE GEFPOR is the client for the Construction of the GEFPOR New Center in Tbilisi. GEFPOR assigned LMC Ltd with the building accompanying Third Party Inspection of the interior and engineering systems works with the contract dated July 14th, 2014. Third party inspection implies only the visual Inspection; it does not include the construction supervising, statistical calculations, testing of the construction materials. On the basis of this contract, the 9-10th inspections took place on August 25th and 26nd, 2014.

    6 FINDINGS During the 9-10th inspections it was found that MEP and Interior works are in progress.

    Gypsum Board’s Fixing:

    1st layer is fastened mostly in every 40-50cm with 25mm Knauf screw

    2nd layer mostly in every 20-30cm with 35mm Knauf screws

    All Conditioners have to be protected from dust. Only 1 conditioner is protected on 2nd floor, others are uncovered.

    R 1.2 Air Conditioners Certificate/ Information: Air conditioners certificates, technical data sheets and installation manuals have to be presented to LMC Ltd

    R 1.3 Site Cleanness: Engineering Work Contractor has to guarantee site cleanness

    R 2.1 Door Opening Expansion, Lift Shaft: Cut in Lift Shaft has to be agreed with project constructor. Document has to be presented.

    R 2.2 Construction Safety: Temporary balustrade has to be installed on staircase in order to guarantee construction safety.

    D 3.1 Pipe Insulation, Heating and Air Conditioning Systems:

    According to the MEP Design, Pipe Thermal Insulation Thickness has to be 10 mm According to actual Situation, Pipe Insulation Thickness is 9 mm and 6mm Change in Insulation thickness has to be agreed and approved by MEP Designer and Building Owner.

    According to the official Letter,

    D 3.2 Ventilation Ducts Insulation:

    According to the MEP Design, Air Supply System’s Ducts thermal Insulation Thickness has to be 20mm According to actual Situation, Ducts Insulation Thickness is 19 mm Change in Insulation thickness has to be agreed and approved by MEP Designer and Building Owner.

    R 3.1 Air Conditioners Fixing, Heating and Air Conditioning Systems: Air Conditioner Indoor Units has to be fastened with double nuts.

    R 3.2 Ventilation Ducts Fixing, Ventilation Systems: Ducts have to be fastened on every joint of ventilation ducts. On Air Exhaust Ducts fastening Points, thermal insulation tape has to be used.

    Only on basement and 1st floors, on Air Exhaust Ducts fastening Points, thermal insulation tape is used.

    R 3.3 Ventilation Ducts Screws, Ventilation Systems:

    Screws, inside the ventilation ducts, have to be cut.

    Not surveyable, performer shall present evidence that they took

    into consideration mentioned recommendation

    R 3.4 Heating and Air Conditioning System’s Test:

    Heating and Air Conditioning Systems have to be tested before suspended ceilings installation.

    R 3.5 Ventilation System’s Test: Ventilation System has to be tested before suspended ceilings installation.

    R 3.6 Certificates for Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Systems (HVAC) Materials: For all materials of HVAC Systems, the manufacturer's certificates and a copy of the manufacturer's representative in Georgia have to be presented.

    R 3.7 Documents for HVAC Systems Equipments ( Air Conditioning Indoor and outdoor Units, Air Handling Unit and etc) Following documents have to be presented for HVAC Systems equipments: Equipments technical passport and information

    about manufacturer Installation and maintenance

    manuals/instructions Warranty service document copy of the manufacturers certificates which proves that HVAC Contractor is allowed to sell, install and make service of equipments

    R 3.8 Site Cleanness and Equipment Protection: It is very important to guarantee site cleanness and protect equipments from dust and dirt

    D 4.1 Toilet Entrance:

    Excavated Earth blocked up the toilet entrance and workers can’t use it anymore.

    R 4.1 Façade Potential Damage, Excavation works: Because of Excavation works Facade walls are covered up with earth and may cause damage. It is recommended to move off soil from the wall and recover all damages if required.

    R 4.2 Waterproofing Protection: The reinforcement’s wooden board is set on façade wall without protection and it can damage the waterproof membrane. The protection should be applied.

    D 5.1 Façade and Rainwater Pipe Damages:

    Because of excavation works facades and rainwater pipe are damaged on some places.

    D 5.2 Floor and Ceiling Type Air Conditioners Installation, Basement Floor:

    On the basement floor, floor and ceiling type air conditioner’s indoor units are installed on different heights.

    R 5.1 Ponding Water, Lift Shaft, Basement floor:

    On the basement floor, in lift shaft water is gathered.

    Water has to be removed and reason has to be found.

    D 6.1 UW Runners, Partition Walls:

    UW runners with thickness 0.5mm are used for parturition walls.

    According to Knauf Partition Wall Standard, UW runner thickness has to be Instead of 0.6mm.

    7 SUMMARY During the 9-10th inspections it was found that Interior and MEP works were in progress. Deviation has been found, see D 7.1;

    Defects, which will not be visible during the next inspection, have to be repaired professionally and documented by the person in charge or site management. After receiving the documentation LMC Ltd will delete the finding from the control list.

    8 OTHERS As regards of the third party inspection the experts of LMC Ltd do not have power on the companies on site. The responsibilities of the persons and companies in charge are not changed by third party inspection of LMC Ltd. The responsibility for the removal of deficiencies is still with the persons in charge.
